You have to say, the old smc version gives you photos of lights that look like they've been treated in Photoshop to give a starburst effect. If that's not what you want, you could spend hours in front of the computer trying to get rid of it!

I realise the Live View noise is normal, I'm just wondering the microphone might be picking it up too much.
The hissing noise is audible both on playback on the camera and on the computer (Mac)

I have a problem on my K5 on video mode: the only sound I can get is hiss! Actual sounds are incredibly muffled and it sounds like someone is blowing really hard into the microphone. I've tried using various external mics, to no avail. Does anybody else have this problem? Or could it be a defect on the camera that needs repairing? I've noticed that the Live View makes a kind of whirring noise when switched on - could this be the culprit
Please help!
