9,300 so I think it's a trade in for me, SRS are advertising end of March for the release date, and they've just confirmed that is latest expectation. This should keep me going until the next FF camera is unveiled, at appx £0.07 per shutter release, might make me think about using continuous shutter at next track event I go to !
Seems a better deal than sending to US for the upgrade (assuming it is worldwide offer) ??

My K1 is presently using V1.20, if I update with 1.41 is it cumulative or do I have to load all the additional updates that I have missed? it does not give guidance on the Ricoh download page

Looking forward to next Saturday, joining 49 others in Lichfield, Staffs, UK. Glyn Dewis a great photographer/retoucher is leading the walk. Its about an hour drive from my home. I'm not expecting anyone else to be shooting Pentax........ but you never know!

Your serial number is 12,000 more than mine, perhaps they fixed it on later production and you wont have the problem

Thanks for this forum again, I'll also put my hand up and say I've never been able to work out why when I used the rear wheel it changed aperture, not zoomed in to check focus. I thought it must be a menu option setting I had missed.

Mine has just come back from SRS, two week turnaround, it says "Replaced mode dial assembly, repaired electronic circuit board, check and test" looking forward to using it this weekend at the Steampunk gathering in Lincoln

Like Redpit, I too noticed that if I applied downward pressure to the mode dial, the displayed mode showing would change without any turning of the dial - not sure if that indicates anything, but maybe those who had a quick fix will also have this problem later?

Interesting, they told me that they expected a two week turnaround when I took mine in last week.
If the mode dial was replaced it seems that it wasn't just a ribbon cable reseat that was needed, so those who had a quick fix must have had a different problem -??
Lincoln Steampunk event next holiday weekend so I hope mine appears in a similar time, or it's back to the K5 ii
Here's hoping it's the only early adopter pain we suffer, as the wait for FF was just too much, and I succumbed to the temptation!

Mine failed after 1200 actuations, it has gone back to SRS, I use my camera in aperture priority most of the time, for a while I was able to select between click stops and get it to function in TAv, but eventually it went to Manual only.

Thanks to both of you for that, two more questions though;
1) how do you set the TC to infinity?
2) I am going to photograph Gannets any tips for using AF-C with the TC?

Some while ago I bought the teleconverter second hand, it remained in my bag unused, I did not get an operating manual with it and have not figured out how to find one on Ricoh Pentax support. It only seems to focus when I pre-focus manually close to the focus point, when it is a long way off it just hunts back and forth without finding focus.
I had hoped to use it with my 300mm DA* on a K5 ii, is it a lost cause? or am I doing something wrong? When mounted I put in the actual focal length 300mm, not 500mm which would be 300 x 1.7
I have the latest firmware 1.07 and it does the same with my K1

Oh! wow, its here,I went from Me Super with a 25 year break to K5, then K5 ii. I want to try all the old lenses before deciding if I need any new FF lenses. This feels like Christmas morning when I was a child, I'm still a novice user, but am really looking forward to getting to know the new beast!

Used an ME Super 30 years ago, and never progressed beyond using it as a snapshot camera despite adding Pentax 28mm, 45-125, 70-210 and a Tokina 500mm mirror. Used a Canon Sureshot then a G9, and finally returned to the Pentax fold a year ago with a K-5, mostly because I still have the old kit.
Joined a local club, but disappointed to find no other Pentaxians, so have been relying on this site as a lurker to figure out what solutions are available. I have spent the last year being amazed at the possibilities of the digital age both in terms of in camera and post processing. I fear I have left it a little late as there seems to be so much to learn!
Completely confused by the state of tethering at the moment following a location portrait training day shoot, where the limitations of the camera screen meant that the images I saw when I got home weren't quite what I had hoped for.
I will post about that in another part of the forum though.

I can't believe the K-5 doesn't do it, I thought I bought a "Digital SLR" so where's the digital connectivity Pentax? I recently joined a camera club, I now see why I'm the only Pentax user!
