Just shows it is possible to learn something new every day. Here in a land of plentiful sunshine, (Andalucia, Spain) I do not take large numbers of photos at any ISO above 100 so I have never noticed the difference. Equally, I did not know that it made any difference either. Many thanks for letting me know.

Yes, I see the same effect regardless of where the cards are formatted, but I always format in camera, on the basis that the internal formatting software must be the most compatible. I suppose itīs no big deal as long as I know to double up the number remaining. Just wondered if anyone else had this big a discrepency- Itīs interesting that there is no variation in this effect, its always the same. I save adobe DNG raw format, to fill card 1 than move to card 2.

I have a K3, with a sandisk extreme pro 32GB sd card in slot 1 and a sandisk extreme 64GB sd card in slot 2, the remaining shots counter always shows 598 and 1196 respectively, if I calculate each DNG raw file at roughly 30MB the counters should read 1066 and 2132 respectively. Indeed the counters do drop by 1 for every 2 shots taken (approximately). Does anyone else have this problem ? an it be cured ?

Just checked mine, there is about 3/4 mm play when tightened, which I had not noticed before. Looks like many are like this.

I just had to send back a Sony 64GB 94MP/sec sdxc1 card because it kept generating the error Ļcard not formattedĻ and losing what photos I had on it, nothing important fortunately. It did this after reformatting several times both on the Mac and in the K3- So Iīd give that one a miss anyway.

Hi ADWB tried that thanks, we have answered the question, that when set to hi speed flash sync, things change and the no release until charged does not work. It seems to fire once at the correct power, once with whats left and then switches to an auto mode and tries to get the shot with no flash (I canīt believe Iīm talking about a camera software system here !). So I think the positive thing to come out of this is that the no release until charged works perfectly as long as high speed sync is not used. Thanks for your help.

Maybe someone can help me out here. Im probably being slow but I got a different result than expected when shooting (experimenting) with the K3 just now. I set the autofocus to continuous, the mode to Tv 500th, iso to auto 100 to 800 range, aperture is f2.8 max. Using drive mode medium and a metz 58 af ii set to pttl hss. A majority of the shots were as expected but when the drive speed exceeded the recharge speed of the flash, the camera changed to its own plan and altered shutter speed to several seconds, aperture wide open and forgot about the flash.It did start firing the flash again after I released the shutter button and pressesd it again. All possible parameters are set to focus and flash priority. Ie release while charging is off. Is this normal ? Maybe charging priority does not work on external flash ? Thanks.

Anyone recognise this beast ? It was just on the pavement in front of me. I think is it was 15ft tall it would be a dead ringer for an arachnid from the film Starship Troopers. It has the look of a praying mantis but it sure is not one.

The new firmware works fine with my metz 44 af1 in fact it may be working better, havent used it enough yet.

If you have the camera set to focus priority and press a 2 stage wireless remote too fast the camera will not have time to focus and therefore will not take the shots. Try a 2 stage pressure on the remote. It works for me.

You are right there, I havenīt enjoyed sussing out camera gear this much since I got my first camera ( a Zorki 4 ) not much to learn there ! The Metz seems to be behaving itself apart from the occasional, what seems like full power overexposure. But performs really well as an indirect source whilst on the camera.
