Thx. IMHO both Tamron and 20-40 are excellent lenses. I wasn't looking to replace the Tammy but found a good used mint copy of the 20-40 and it seemed like a great addition to my da15 & da70. I also ended up with a 16-85 but it didn't move the 20-40 off of the camera either - just something about the 20-40 to my eyes (and I love the build), and since i need to slim down my kit somethings gotta give.

On my K3 i set AF adjust at +2. It is consistent thru the range. Screw drive was fast enough for my use. I was looking for at least center sharp @2.8 and this one delivered. Here are a few snaps that show what this guy can do in my very amateur hands...

Just picked up the DFA150-450. I've not had opportunity to shoot much yet, but noticed that the lens starts creeping as soon as I look at it (ok a wee bit of exaggeration;)). wondering what is "normal" for this lens. I found a few comments extolling the fact that it doesn't creep (the in depth review on this site and others), but also a few mentioning the creeping.
I want to exchange mine for a non-creeper, but don't want the hassle if the non-creeper is the exception rather than the rule. (will use rubber band in that case).
Will be using mostly on a tripod and this copy starts moving quickly if not horizontal.
Does anyone know if the majority of the copies are creepers or not?
thx,
John

Just received this lens yesterday and mine jumps noticeable too. Both in PDAF/OVF and live view. Using autofocus I only notice it using OVF, but manual focus I can re-create it using either. for manual focus it jumps as I move focus ring about 1/4inch either way - mine is easy to make "jump" this way. No matter where I begin focusing I can make mine "jump".
This is my second copy - the first copy was way off focusing between short and long end - could not adjust for anything useable for me. Have not tested for decentering or focusing yet - not sure if I want to live with the jumping.
I tried my other lenses and cannot re-create. I've never experienced this before. Should I be concerned?

You might want to consider the 2 year extended warranty for $20. ( I know B&H carries it). I believe you have to purchase within 30 days of the new camera purchase. It also includes one free cleaning/inspection.
