All modern cams of any reasonable quality can take excellent images. Never let someone else's equipment intimidate you.

I had my 67 at the Christmas parade. I got a, "What the hell is that?", from a cell phone kid. His dad who looked to be 40-ish. Said "Son, that is a real camera!" Go Pentax!

When I got the blad home, I found a receipt for a CLA dated 10 months earlier tucked in the manual. Evidently the heirs are not into the photography.
The pressman is in beautiful shape. I cleaned and lubed the shutter. But it is a beast to carry around and shoot. ---------- Post added 12-12-15 at 11:25 PM ---------- Five pack. A couple need restoration. |

I calibrate my display, which solved a lot of issues with others viewing my images. The best advice I can give, is to also save files you share in sRGB format. Export for web in Photoshop makes it easy. Sending Adobe RGB files can make for odd results on others screens. The same is true for the garden variety online pint services. I sent Adobe RGB files to a drug store chain for printing and they all had a strong yellow cast. Resent them as sRGB files and they came out fine.

I use plain water as a stop bath. Film is not as needy as paper for a stop bath, at least at 35 and 120 film sizes. It takes a bit to "see" in B&W. We as humans are used to seeing in color, and so have to adapt to how film "sees" a scene. B&W is about light, shape, and texture. I highly recommend at least reading up on the zone system. Ansel Adams is not the only photographer, by far, who was good at B&W. The zone system is a good way to help understand B&W. Do I use the zone system? Usually not. But it helped me understand how to anticipate what the film was going to do. There are plenty of other good resources, this one is just one of the easier ones to find.

I'll add another vote for HC-110. The concentrate is easy to use, no powder mixing, and even after it is opened, it lasts nearly forever, if you don't develop all that often.
