For you younglings, my advice is take care of your body. I played football. And I didn't really mind getting hurt. It always healed in weeks if not days. However, all those old injuries come back to haunt you, and hurt nearly as bad. Yeah there are old days. When I feel old. When I am gimping along and think, gosh I am walking like an old man. But there are good days, and any day I am breathing is an excellent day.

I also remember duck and cover, and during a rare thunderstorm (I was 5 or 6 at the time) running to my parents bedroom asking if it was the Russians bombing us.

I remember Sputnik and vanguard. Vanguard I is still in orbit, and will be long after the last of us is gone. I remember Miss Nancy, and don't be a don't bee. I also remember do be a do bee, but after that it got hazy. I remember when each of the local TV stations came on the air in Sacramento. Prior to that we watched San Francisco stations on a very tall roof antenna. I remember Cal Worthington and his dog spot. Spot was any and everything except a dog.

There was a brief mention of Pentax in this week's Chelsea and Tony Nortons pod cast on YouTube. (Backlighting) they were asked what they thought of Pentax. They said the one they tried blew everything else away. Positive. But also said that Pentax had been at the lower end of the camera scale. Negative. That they really would only personally use a full frame camera for their work, but would like to test a current Pentax. Positive. And that they had applied to a test loaner. Positive. But that their name never seems to come to the top of the list. Although it was only a brief mention, it seemed positive overall and at least was a mention. It occurred during one of the Q&A segments.

It would hurt to pick. I would pick them both, you are self punishing for no good reason. But if I had to pick I would take the Contax, for no other reason than I like the red. Everything I own is black or silver. So the red is a real interesting camera to me.

The trouble I would have with the lens, is bringing myself to sell it. But then I already own a Pentax 67, so perhaps my temptation would be less. Though a 67 II would be a nice addition.
To the previous posters, yes I agree the scratches and the mount modifications do lower the value. But it was to note that one should not be scared away from some types of imperfections, nor accept a low ball price.

Yes there are some scratches, but at the same time the linked article below had some eye opening information on front surface damage for me.

I'm not associated with them, blah blah blah. I did manage do to some very visible damage (chips) to a front element on a sigma 28-200 and found their article to be pretty accurate as regards my experience with my lens.

Definitely not the model's fault. But could not the authorities use the number the texts came from to find the creep? Who may or may not even be a photographer.

I try to support local stores where I can. If I use their advice or handle the cameras at the store" then I but from the store. I want there to be stores to demo cameras for me in the future.

All modern cams of any reasonable quality can take excellent images. Never let someone else's equipment intimidate you.

I had my 67 at the Christmas parade. I got a, "What the hell is that?", from a cell phone kid. His dad who looked to be 40-ish. Said "Son, that is a real camera!" Go Pentax!
