Pentax K-7 Shake reduction problem

Wow,

This is great, I'm not going mad! I have a major problem with the SR on my K-7 after putting my Sigma 10-20 on it! It's gone back to SRS for a refund. Anyhow I have decided to move systems after a faulty K10 and two faulty K20s and a faulty 16-45 amongst others. I don't know why I let it go on this long.

Bye Pentax

I am going to return this back to SRS Microsystems for a refund, who have been great. I have tested this further I can't get a sharp image even on a tripod with mirror lock up and using a remote release.

Help K-7 issue driving me mad!

Help,

I want to know if my K-7 is faulty or not. The issue is that the SR seems to carry on making its funny little sounds (normal) AFTER the shutter actuation. I am certain it didn't do this when I got it last week. It sounds like a wrrrrrrthumbp as if the sensor is settling back into place and sounds very similar to the loose sound inside when the camera is rotated (again normal). I am convinced this is not right. It does it regardless of the SR being on or off and it does it in single shot and burst mode. Incidentally, if I do a bulb shot its makes the sound after the shutter has closed for the same time that the shutter was open.

Help help help, am I going mad or is it a genuine fault??

Cheers

OUCH! Dropped shift lens!

Oh dear, I dropped by new (to me) 28mm shift lens right on the end. Lucky for me the glass is intact. The camera just slipped out of my hand in a farmyard whilst on an assignment (as they do from time time for no apparent reason). But there is now a bit of freeplay in the shift mechanism and the split prism doesn't seem to align at infinity (although I think it might have been like this already).

I tested focus on my K10d and it seems ok, the images are sharp at infinity and and I always use this lens at smaller apertures (around F11) so DOF should account for minor focus errors.

My question is does anybody have an idea on the cost of such lens repairs, my local independant camera shop looked at me as if I was from Mars! I could probably live with the freeplay as I have shimmed it up with some acetate strips which seem to work. My concerne is with the infinity focus issue as I need sharp and detailed images of buildings.

Many thanks, any advice gratefully received,
Karl

Sorry Guys,

I have a K10d (kit lens and 50-200 and AF-360), and just get blurred shots most of the time when she's walking about, both towards and parallel with the camera. A few pointers would go along way to help me eliminate user error!

Cheers all

What settings do you guys use for photographing your kids? I don't seem to get many keepers of my 13 month old very active daughter.

Cheers all.
