Thank you Adam, I am impressed with your help.
The K-x works fine with the cheapie lenses, they are just to see how I go with old manual lenses.
Meanwhile there is a new K-01 on the way, (what a bargain they are) and I will rekindle the photography interest in the near future.

G'day to all,
As I am a newbe and do not know much about the k-mount, there seems to be an issue with suitability.
I purchased a Horusbennu 1.7/50mm and an Ozeck 2.8/135mm and they do fit mechanicallyon my K-x but do nothing in the way of sending electrical info to the body.
This on all settings like auto, program, aperture priority, shutterspeed priority etc.
Do only the propriety Pentax lenses work?;)
Can anyone please explain what is not going right?
