Welcome from another Dane - Living in Denmark :-)
I canīt comment on the K3 - Because I was cheap (or afraid of my wife), and bought the K5II on sale a mont ago. But I can agree that there is a lot to learn. I havenīt really had possibility to use it yet, but have made one (crazy) decision - It will only be used in manuel :-)

Ohhh no excuse - You can still get it :-) I got the Black version on Amazon (france) a couple of month ago (and they still sells them) :-)
It is an amazing camera - I really loves it (Even that I "by accident" just bought an K5II the other day - but dont tell my wife)

Well, I donīt know yet :-) I ordered it yesterday. But according to amazon.fr, the sale is handled by amazon, so I donīt expect to be any problems, but I will let you know in a few days, because it should be shipped with normal post, and I live in Denmark, so I donīt expect it before the end of the week. This is also my first order on the French Amazon, normally I use the German or UK site - depending on the price :)

Well, I had decided that I didnīt need another camera... but the I did see the MX-1 on sale on Amazon.co.uk. After my normally several hours of checking reviews I made the "buy" gesture :-)
10 minutes after I found it on amazon.fr - a little lower price (213 EURO), and including : small tripod, 8 Gb SD and a leather case. So I cancelled the first order :-)

Well, for now the plan is : The K-01, my 70mm ltd, 35mm ltd, and my new 21mm ltd (and thinking of getting the 40 mm ltd) :-) (And a Sony DSC-tx20 for the beach)

You actually beat me - especially with the last line :)
I was happy with my K-20D with the kit lens, but when I got the 35 mm limited I got even happier,and the 70 mm limited even..... and I got the 21 mm limited the other day, and even with bad autumn weather, the first couple of images with the K-01 had something in them that I never had seen before. It is amazing (for me anyway) what lenses can do. And about the Q - I just bought them for fun - and they really are that.

I think that it must have something to do with out timezone... ;-) I live in Denmark, and having all most the same problem with my gear - But I am glad to see your post, because I was allmost ready to buy another Pentax to see if that could do the trick, but now I will hold myself back... at least for a couple of days to see if the virus disappear :-)

.. Yes there is of cause the problem with LCD - so maybe it would be better to take the K20D, and buy the 17-50 :)

I am actually the "prime lens school" :) And I can say that the 35mm ltd is a great piece of glass, but actually if I get the chance I use the 70mm ltd more.

Hi,
I am going on a holiday trip around India i November , and are thinking of traveling "light" - Only bringing my K-01, and one lens.
The problem is that I donīt really have a zoom (only the Pentax 18-55). So I was thinking about either the Sigma 17-50/2.8 EX, or the 17-70/2.8-4 EX.
Does anybody have any opinions on those - or another suggestion ?

One of the things with Li-ion batteries is that it has a very flat discharge curve - Meaning that the voltage drops very little over a long period of time, and the at the very end (when you have used allmost all of the capacity) it drops very fast. I am not sure if that is the case with your problem, but what you can experience is that the battery is very close to "empty" and the taking a picture takes quite a lot of juice and the voltage drops below what the camera needs for working. And then just a few minutes in the charger, and it is up again. I have done a lot of testing on different types of battery technologies (not for cameras), and what I have seen, is that there is a huge difference in the quality of the batteries, even within the same brand, an example - we tested a 33 Ah lead acid battery, and well the capacity on the tested samples was between 25 and 36 Ah. (I know that it a completly different story :-) ) We also had another strange problem with our chargers - they were normally in the mains socket, waiting to attatch batteries for charging, but sometimes we went out with the, apparently, fully charged batteries, and very shortly the equipment went on low battery. Strange..untill we found out that some of the chargers didnīt measure the initally state of the battery correctly, when attatched to charger. So it looked like after a short while that the battery was full. But when we removed the charger from the mains, and reinserted it - we could see that the charger started up and did a completly different charging cycle. I know this was a long story, and maybe not helpfull with your problem. But batteries can be rather tricky - and you can get really strange results.

....You need more cameras...you need more cameras... ;-) Well, I canīt comment on a lot of your questions, but just tell you my reason for buying the K-01. Sometimes when I just went out for a small trip, I couldnīt really decide : Should I bring my camera bag or not (I Is a little heavy) So very often I did go out with nothing - and missed a lot of great shots. So thatīs my reason to get the K-01 : A small, fun camera that gives me great pictures, and is with me most of the time. - OK - I have to admit - I have done a few "stupid" investments the last few days : Bought 2 Qīs - So you see - You DO need more cameras :-)

I can comment on that Thursday - My black Q arrived today and the white will arrive Thursday afternoon according to UPS. And I must say - Iī, still smiling when looking at my first Q - It is just... impressive :-)

And I guess thatīs not "original" batteries ? :-) What is the capacity ? Is it 700 mAh or 1000 mAh.. I have seen both. - Hope I can do this - sorry didnīt see the link at the bottom :-(

I did it again !!! Iīm weak...I was looking for a 01 lens, and "suddenly" I had ordered one more Q : a white body with a 01 lens. But I have convinced myself that : well now you donīt need to buy a spare battery :-)

All this talk about the new Q7 - and what did I do ??? Have just pressed "buy" on a Q+02 lens for 295 USD - Donīt start shouting :lol: - Iīm from Denmark and as you might know prices are normally x2 times here compared to the US...(so I DO think itīs a bargain) I just coudnīt resist. Think I will be a good addition to my K-01.

I got mine yesterday with the 40 mm from Amazon UK for approx 400 Euros with free delivery to Denmark - and looks like they are still in stock.
