I kinda liked all images but Christoph's "Chatting" stood out for me. It fits the theme, a nice diagonal and also leaves to one's imagination. So the winner is jchorst, thank you all for participating.

Welcome to Weekly Challenge #644 - INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY Thanks Kerrowdown for an interesting challenge last week and to all who participated. International Women's Day (8th March, also Mother's Day in some countries) is upon us so I thought this would make a nice theme, but I'll leave it open to interpretation. The fine print:
Every week, a new theme is picked and judged by the winner of the previous week.
The Challenge will run until midnight next Thursday, March 14, whichever time zone you are in.
Rules
1. Post ONE photo.
2. The photo must portray an interpretation of the theme.
3. Post your single picture in this thread and explain what motivated you to take the picture and/or how you feel it represents the weekly theme (especially if it's not obvious).
4. The challenge is interactive. Any response is welcome.
5. The judge will pick the WINNERS and choose one of them to be the judge for the next week.
6. This challenge runs for 7 days plus an additional day for the judge to choose the winners.
7. Any Pentax camera can be used.
8. Pictures can be from any time frame, not just within the week of the current theme. 9. In case the winner of a challenge is unable to become the judge for the next challenge, they will PM the #2 winner for that person to be the judge. Hello everybody, sorry for the delay. Something happened in real life and required couple of days of my full attention, so I completely forgot about the forums and the challenge. So please forgive me for not commenting on every entry, I will just pick the winner which is Kerrowdown. Thank you all for the enrties!

Welcome to Weekly Challenge #592 - THE BIG PINK Thanks Richard for an interesting challenge last week and to all who participated. For this week the theme is pink, as long as pink is either dominant color or at least has some noticeable impact on the picture, pink it's not even a question. Show me the fifty shades of pink! The fine print:

Thank you all who participated and Richard for the win! It was a little bit of a hassle to take this shot, light was Godox AD600 Pro with a Godox P120L Octobox. I had to hold the cat with one hand and used my phone in the other hand to focus and trigger the shot using the ImageSync app. After a lot of not so great shots, she finally decided to cooperate and I got this one. It did pay off in the end, she was adopted and found a new home, so here's how a photo shooting session can forever change your life. I don't complain too much either, got a lot of matches on dating apps with this pic (but no adoption so far :D ).
I'll come up with a new challenge today.

Most impressive that I've captured was a storm in the Gulf of Thailand. Also, it was so weird that for me it was completely silent, probably because I was too far away so that the thunder dissipated before reaching me. Tropical Storm by Hattifnattar, on Flickr

Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong, but focusing using live view AF will be always correct even if the lens has focus problems like FF/BF. In liveview, camera will be using contrast AF (using the image on the sensor to pick the focus position with maximum contrast) as opposed to phase AF using the viewfinder. So the focus will always be correct even if the lens is not calibrated, although it will be slower. That's the reason I use liveview AF with my K-1 and Sigma 35mm Art, which also has focus problems.

I don't like the images presented in the article but I have no problem with this as long as they're not labeled as photography.
As for competitions, I think the rules should be more clear in regards to what is allowed and what is not.

As a geophysicist I think it's time for me to jump in. Do fossils qualify? here's my greatest find so far, back in 2014 I was still doing a lot of field trips as a former student. Fossil Hunt by Hattifnattar, on Flickr
