Please do put me on your ignore list.
My math skills are fine. The Nikon D610 had a score of 86 so by your logic the D610 should have won. Obviously that score was not what they were using. I'm not apologizing for them. I'm just point out the obvious.
No inconsistencies have been pointed out. What has happened it that people have made ignorant assumptions as to how DRP came to their decision. Nobody here actually knows how they came to this opinion, so what we get are a bunch of conspiracy theories about DPRs motives and biases.

I notice that focusingscreen.com have finally added four different replacement screens (from Canon micro prism, split prism, cross-split prism & S type) for the K-1. The screen list can be found here: Focusing Screen
I fitted an S type in my K5 and found it a huge improvement over the standard K5 screen for MF and would like to use an S type with the K-1 (once mine's out of warranty in May).
There's been a lot of talk on the forum about replacement screens, and quite a few comments about the K-1 screen not being replaceable while others say it is. If the K-1 screen can be changed I would have to weigh up the fors/againsts in doing this if the change meant losing some of the functions available with the standard screen.
Disappointingly the website does not contain K-1 installation instructions yet, so: has anyone already changed their screen or can confirm whether the screen is actually replaceable? If it is replaceable are any of the viewfinder functions affected?
Ta for any feedback. :)

Speaking for myself, yes. . . That's exactly what I did. After many repeated frustrations, I gave up on AF -- at least until somebody makes a telepathic camera that knows what I want to focus on! So, I got a Sony Alpha A7 and adapters for old, manual-focus Pentax-K and M42 thread mount lenses. I don't even have an autofocus lens for it. However, the Sony is always in live view and has great focus peaking and magnification. It's the easiest and most natural camera to focus manually that I've ever had.
Getting back to the original question. . . I'd like to see Pentax improve their controls. My K-S2 came with a mode dial labelled: P / AUTO / SCN / A-HDR / U1 / U2 / B / M / TAv / Av / Tv / Sv. Is that supposed to be user-friendly? Intuitive, even?
The K-1 seems like a further descent into madness with buttons that control what dials control, and a dial that controls what another dial controls. Come on! Just give us a dial for ISO and a dial for shutter speed, and put the aperture ring back on the lens where God intended! Just like the great old Pentax ZX-5n. Or like a new Fujifilm X-T1. If Fujifilm can do something like this, why can't Pentax?

I can only speak for myself here but what really pushes my buttons is a certain brand of what I call "mainstream user ignorance". It's a mix of lack of knowledge mostly found in people who like to think safely inside the box paired with a pinch of arrogance derived from that exact way of thinking. I really don't care if an informed person tells me why they would chose lets say Nikon over Pentax. It's when the blanket statements and prejudices come out that I get snarky.
That is applicable to anything really, any sort of product, blindly following trends etc.

Me, I have explained the errors in his format /total light/ lens length BS so many times, I get close to puking at the mention of his name. Oops, I just brought some vomit up into my throat, but don't worry, I'm OK now. :D

Watching Tony's video is a bit like reading the manual. I mean, it might be useful, but no man would do it - right? ;)

I didn't watch it, but somehow he isn't the person I would choose to explain my K-1 to me.

Most of my lens purchase can be tracked down to LBA, hardly any story to tell

A lot rose-tinted glasses here.
The elements are substantially smaller than even the cheap Tamron 1.4x PZ. Perhaps someone will argue that Tamron put in extra glass for the fun of it. Pentax flatly indicates "no." This means most lenses are a no go, but I am sure there will be some FF lenses that pass muster, but not the faster ones most likely.

Aside from professionals who need the gear to make a living, cameras are just a luxury for the rest of us. In that sense there is no such thing as overpriced or underpriced. We all pay what can for our toys. I couldn't afford $1300 for a new K-3, or more accurately, it wasn't worth it to me at $1300. At $800 it was worth it to me. Basically you pay a $500-$600 premium for having it +/-12 months earlier than the more frugal folks. And yeah, I think it's silly to buy anything with resale value in mind. Maybe you'll take a risk on something if you know you'll get good value on a turn around sale in case you don't like it,...that makes sense. But frankly, I'm fundamentally against the whole notion of buying something with a predetermined resale in mind, using it to its fullest for a year, and expecting a certain percentage of what you paid back on the resale. Rubs me the wrong way.

What adult uses the word "sissy" anyway? Clearly offensive, but hopefully it made him feel slightly more masculine in the process.
Years ago when I found that page, I thought it might be a place to learn a few things...I only needed to read one or two entries to know the guy was a complete hack with his own agenda. His advice is often terrible. It is also ironic that he is not even pro photographer but that hasn't stopped him from acting like one.

I dare say that this entire OBF vs GPS debate would probably not have taken place had the camera been named something like KG instead of K3-II. Had that been the case, it would have been viewed as a new model with some specific functions, rather than a presumed upgrade with a missing feature.

I don't know? Your turn....... How many Pro's do you see shooting Pentax? You really think no flash will draw them?
I won't buy a car without turn signals, even though I have two arms. Without air bags, even though I have seat belts.
...and I would never have this shot and many, many, more without OBF. You only have seconds to get many shots and if you have to mount a flash, those seconds are lost forever. Nope...I don't like any flash other than studio strobes, but I don't like seat belts either and I wouldn't drive without them.
What are the odds I'd get a second chance at this after I went back and got a flash to mount...or even if I had one handy in my bag? How many shots will you miss? :( IMGP9585-700 by Rupert2009, on Flickr
