i use it mainly for videos so the shutter count should be pretty low like in the low 10k's

my 2 k-01's broke down a few months apart. Went to a repair shop and they said I'm better off buying new. All these lenses and nothing to put them on. :( This would definitely be awesome. :)

Glad to see movie specs catching up with the demands... I mainly use my Pentax's for video and have seriously been contemplating on switching platforms. Just too many lenses I'm so used to to abandon. So happy to see some advancement in this area.

Its just a black screen. It takes pictures and videos but all just black to it. Anyone else had the same experience?

better low-light for video than the K3
4K UHD
IBIS like the new Olympus
better tablet tethering and in body wifi rather than flu-card
on-lens controls like that on the new samsung nx1
and hot models to shoot for a year

Thanks for the kind words. Making videos is a happy hobby.
Audio is the weakest link in this video. Since I only get to play around with my K-01's not as often as I want, I look for ways to cut on cost. For this I tried a pair of wireless laveliers I got for $29USD on ebay. And it pretty much sucks the way it is, straight to the cam. Just a bit better than relying on the cam's mic I guess. Its hard to find the sweet spot, as the mic overmod's when its a bit close and just too low on the volume when a bit far. A case of you get what you pay for.

I ordered a portable audio interface on amazon which I could attach to my android phone via OTG so I can play around with the volume and monitor the audio while recording, but it will arrive 20 days after I needed it. :(

I only get to practice once a year, haha. But it's my best so far. Used a Samyang 35mm 1.4 the whole time. Had lots of fun working with the kids here.

well, on both my k-01's the flickering went away when I set it to center-weighted. everything else should also be on M btw. anyway, maybe its just me.

Try setting your AE metering to Center Weighted. The multi-point setting makes automatic exposure adjustments that are causing these flickers we are complaining about. I used to have that problem too.

Set AE metering to Center Weighted so that it does not automatically adjust the exposure. This did it for me. If it is set to Multi-segment, it still adjusts exposure automatically even on AE-L.

I wanted to take the DSLR video route and was shopping around comparing technical specs of the brick vs Canon 550D, 60D, and 7D and by comparison of DxO Mark Scores (which the K01 beat all three at) and other specs, the K01 made more sense. And since the price dropped significantly, I was able to get 2 units for the price of a 550D... Another one is coming...

I think I've finally found the solution to this...
I set the AE Metering to Center-Weighted a couple of days ago and it seems that I don't experience this anymore.

Mine...
That's 2 bricks. yellow one has a 50mm 1.4 on it and the new black one has got my new Samyang 35mm 1.4... I use the 18-55 kit on my flycam, thinking of getting a 17-50 2.8 tamron to replace this and slap that on a white brick.... oh an yeah there's a sigma 28-70mm 2.8 on there that used to be my all around, but these primes make for happier footage.
