Back in the days I was buying OpenSuse (not sure about version or if it was just Suse or OpenSuse) also just to get manual. KDE desktop was nice and I liked it. It was my choice distro through the 90's...

For the system I recommended the rated power should be around 750W and I provisioned extra 300W, just in case it will be attached other peripherals like scanner, card readers, devices to be charged, etc.
Also in case it will be added different video card, maybe two in SLI the consumption then will be closer to 900W and if you add more RAM as well you getting close or over 1KW.
No offence but check by yourself all the components in the build and add to it all peripherals that most people will use and tell me what number you getting there.

Th video card alone draws 230w... CPU is I think around 105w. That.s already around 350w and do you really get 100% output from power supply.

To explain a bit better why I chose to propose build like this is:
The storage drives, 1tb each totaling to 4tb but used in Raid as 2tb for backup and safety of the pictures or video work.
The video card supports 10bit colour space that photoshop uses per channel and also can run 2x 4K or 5K displays and even 1x 8K display at 60Hz. Also supports PS openCL.
32gb of RAM is enough and uses only 2 slots on motherboard and can be expanded with another set of 2x 16gb to total of 64gb if necessary.
PSU is powerful enough to handle power requirements of video card and all other peripherals and very stable.
Case is dual chamber design with magnetic dust covers and HDD cage support 2x 3.5 drives and 2x 2.5 or 4x 2.5 drives or even 6x 2.5 drives with additional adapters.
Supports 240mm radiator for liquid cooling with 2 fans on front.
Cables are hidden due to dual chamber design and airflow is not restricted due to same, speak cooler case inner flow.
Water cooling for CPU is fairly quiet and very efficient.
Motherboard and CPU can be changed to Intel based but this also may need another RAM modules. I choose AMD CPU while currently the Intel is twice expensive for similar performance. I also think that Adobe will start soon to use multiple cores on cpu’s while it is stupid not too.
The rest is changeable as per taste... Again not overbuild but safe for quite some years to come. Hope this clarifies some questions.

Why you don't use Adobe Bridge? It is free software anyway.

Hey no problem... I am using Adobe CC and have multiple PC's (2 x win 10pro + 1x Solus Gnome). I do have running on Solus Darktable + Gimp and also some other software but while I am paying for CC I use my windows PC for pictures. Though I didn't run into those issues with Solus but my Lenovo laptop does not use nvidia and was running perfect until recently my 8 year old crashed the screen but I am also running Solus on my day to day PC (Lenovo M93p Tiny) which is like laptop in small case and external display. Had display issues though with Mint/Ubuntu on Lenovo laptop.

There is probably proprietary driver for your graphic card... It is probably Nvidia based card and for those you have to install specific driver even under linux... Can you be more specific with your hardware or which model is your video card?
EDIT: Probably Nvidia GTX 1050Ti for laptops... if it is this one then look here: https://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/138959 |

I had similar issues with Mint or Ubuntu that it was fixed with forum support however after some time I got another update and all went down hill... I decided to change the distro and since I switched to Solus never had a hick-up, It is running very stable but the software is a bit limited however since I joined the Solus a lot has changed and the Solus distro from nowhere went into top 5 Linux distros. I strongly suggest that you try it. They have few flavors and you really have to pick up one you like. They have amazing and fast forum support and all software you mention is supported.
Also they are maker of Mate or Budgie (not sure which one) that has been adapted to other distros...

while you cannot get the software only... you have to purchase hardware in order to get software, if I remember correctly.
Edit: also to note that Kolor software was more advanced then Gigapan...

Hey, no problem at all... I have stitched with Kolor Autopano sequence of 30 images more than less. It handles large files with ease but as I said it is shutdown now. It is known that Kolor Autopano was able to handle well over 300 images for a panorama.
Here are some examples all done with Kolor Autopano.
This is 27 images pano with original file resolution 11900 x 11900px
This is 12 images (original file resolution 17395 x 5591px)
This is 10 images pano
21 images pano (original file resolution 12403px x 13233px @ 300dpi or 105.01cm x 112.04cm @ 300dpi) [

Since acquisition by GoPro the best software for stitching is shutdown since last month. If you have chance to get somehow Kolor Autopano it will handle the files even in raw you just need a good PC. I will suggest to export them in JPEG and then stitch... much faster turnaround time. If you like you can PM me and send me links with raw files and I can try to stitch with Kolor Autopano and send you the image back in tiff or psd or raw. Let me know.
EDIT: While I typed OP has posted that he resolved the issue... :-)

I will place my bet not on the bodies but on the quality of lenses each manufacturer can produce... Good optics are in my opinion more essential then sensors and brand names, though the flash and AF performance is also a big factor there.
Maybe Canon as I really like their lens line though I always had a Nikon or Pentax DSLR's. Nowadays Sigma is good as well as Tamron, also the new Pentax lenses are exceptional. Leica is kind of legendary as well as Zeiss. Though!
