And now finally got last night my first manual lens SMC-M 50mm f/1.7. The lens looks like new one, came with rear cap,no front one unfortunately plus Hoya UV filter. Could not notice any scratches or malfunction. Had time only last night and this morning to try it, and my first impression is - I love it. I set camera following instructions from Pentax forum and it was easy. It is hard to focus wide open but not impossible, need to practice much more but guess that is good excuse to take more photos. missed focus a bit but will improve with practice. I shoot mostly in Av,ISO 100,tried M and green button but found using Av is easier, tried Locked focus seems to work too, and switched to AF and got that catch in focus which is great for moving subjects.here are some my first shots straight from the camera.

Hi there, it is my first time to write something on this forum. I mostly read others opinions on lenses and enjoyed in great photos some members posted here. I have Pentax K200D since 2009 and even I'm quite happy with it I would like to sell it and go for K5 II. But this will happen in a year time since I have to collect money. In the meantime I want to buy some M lenses and start to practice with it. Here in Serbia I found M 50mm 1.7 priced at 30 euro and M 50mm f1.4 priced at 70 euros. I have read here that both lenses are great but still have to decide which one to take, both are in good condition. I attached here one of my photos with Tamron 70-300. I have also Pentax 50-200 and kit lens 18-55.
