This is the Interior of the Wainwright building designed by Louis Sullivan (with Frank Lloyd Wright as lead draughtsman and understudy). I traded my Pentax X-5 for a Sony A3000, and would like to get back into the Pentax world with a new K-3!

First a little more info is needed. What versions of windows are you using?
It seems that there may be a driver missing, are there any prompts for you to install one?
Did you install the supplied disk with media impressions?
Good luck and join the x-5 owners group on this forum and share some of your pics!! (once you get them uploaded of course)

Ricoh Forum • Portal
Did you try here yet? This camera seems to be a little rare compared to what most of the Ricoh shooters are using in this forum. Good luck with your hunt!

They do have a free download here Download ArcSoft MediaImpression it is a safe download I put it on my computer to try it out. Maybe this is the updated version you need. Mine also had to do an update the first time I tried to use it and updated without incident on my windows 8 machine. Good luck to you hope this works, and join the X-5 owners club in the groups I hope to get some more people in their and build an x-5 community!

If you could focus with the lens, and if it recorded in RAW this would be the best bridge camera available. I have not tried the manual focus much, but I do know that the rubber on the lens is strictly for looks.

Feel free to post all of the things you like about your X-5 here! I know their are some people that like it because of its amazing reviews.
My likings so far
1. In camera photo editing (really love this)
2. Picture Quality (yes it has a small sensor, but it puts out some good pics)
3. The Grip, it just feels amazing in hand!
4. The Price, was 199 at target!
5. The looks, it looks far better than a few of its super zoom competitors
That's what I have come to like after a few weeks of use, share what you like and post your favorite pics!

Great pics straight out of the box! I just got mine and after two days I am in love with it! Make sure to join the owner's club group as well as the facebook x-5 owner's club and post up some more pics!

Welcome, I hope you enjoy your new X-5 I just ordered mine and should be receiving it in a couple days. I think it is a very robust bridge camera for a small amount of money! I started an owners club in the groups on this website as well as on face book so join if you are interested! Welcome again I have not been on this forum long but it looks like a great community!

Yeah not being able to shoot in RAW is a drawback, but compared to some of the other bridge camera's this camera does well. And I don't know if they would be able to add the capability in an update, but one can hope!

Wow what a steal! I was looking into a few other camera's but I think I may take the plunge on this one to try it out seeing as the price is so good!!
On the internet it is still listed as 229, but I walked into the store and it shows 199! So check your Target stores if you are looking at buying an X-5 and get a good deal.

I will be going into Architecture, I just moved to the Oklahoma Air Guard and changed jobs from jet engine mechanic to Engineer (civil engineering). So I am waiting to attend school for that and when I get back I will have a few courses to knock out at Rose State and then I will head to OU.

Hello, My name is Josh and I just got started in my journey to do some real photography! I mostly shoot architecture because that is what I plan on going into. I don't have a Pentax yet but I am saving up to get a K-01 because I really like the features and the knock out price. I got my first SLR about a month ago, a very minty Ricoh kr-5 super II with the Pentax K mount. I am starting to look around for old Pentax glass that I can mount up to my Ricoh and eventually my k-01. I'm glad I found this forum because it seems to be a great site, and even though I am new to the photography game I already have a strong sway towards Pentax products!
I included some pictures of my Ricoh if anyone wanted to see it! It only has one scrape on the film door other than that is is mint. I hope to have my K-01 soon I can't wait!!
