I've had the 15-30 for several months and finally got the opportunity to shoot with it: |

Day 1 of owning the K-1 I took it out in a downpour. Most of my waterfall photography is in the rain due to the temperamental waterfalls where I live.
Rained hard all day on the below outing...
Here's what it looked like at 8:16 AM:
Same waterfall just before 4 PM on the same day:
Here's what this waterfall looks like after a healthy rainfall:
Here's the same waterfall just after a torrential downpour where we got about 3 inches of rain in an hour:
Here's video of the above-mentioned storm featuring the K-1 and D-FA 50 1.4 braving the elements: https://fb.watch/nZBlyE1n0D/
Despite all of the exposure, my K-1 still performs flawlessly to this day.

I own both. For a walk around, 28-105 no question. It's worth every cent that you'll pay for it. I've used it on multiple commercial gigs as well as extremely rare opportunities (nature photography outings to places that I may never be able to visit again and/or in rare ideal conditions). The 28-105 is equal in sharpness to the 24-70 once you stop down to f4. I use the 24-70 exclusively for event/wedding photography.

I'd say that the SMC 40 Limited was my favorite lens on crop sensor (K-5II). Whenever I was composing a nature scene with my eyes, it would end up being exactly what I'd see through the 40mm lens. It had brilliant corner to corner sharpness. It was of course very lightweight and portable. I used it maybe once or twice on my K-1 and haven't really returned to it. It's brilliant, you should get it.
Here's a couple of my favorites with it if you don't mind: |

Nicely lit. Perhaps a bit less busy background?

There are certain lenses that I feel are essential to the Pentax experience and the FA 77 is at the top of my list.

I actually liked the version of V6 you have vs the v II because they have an amber/orange display vs blue :D completely frivolous reason but hey

I have multiple of the RF60, V6, and V6II and have used professionally for years without being let down. Great products… whoever buys these will be more than happy. Best wishes on your sale!

Interesting. Is this something you already have set up as a display or did you do it for the purpose of the photo?

If you can afford the Pentax and can handle the weight, then to me it would be an obvious choice to go with the Pentax. Pentax will blow it out of the water at 2.8 sharpness if that's a concern. Pentax is 876 grams heavier. No weather sealing or quick shift focusing on the Tamron. Tamron has screw drive (not silent) AF. Build quality/longevity is likely to be better on the Pentax. I've seen some very nice images created with the Tamron SP AF 70-200mm F2.8 Di LD IF Macro, but I've been blown away by ones I've seen with the Pentax.

It is a wonderful portrait lens... I find that the close up shots are where the real magic comes out. Some of my favorite landscape/nature shots have been taken with it as well, so I'm gonna have to fight you on the "exclusively for portraiture" part
