Hi all-
I took my new K-30 on a trip to Colorado and was experimenting. Shot some in JPEG, some in RAW and some in the 'both' option.
My computer won't read the RAW ones, but the Silkypix software does (score!). So, after loading into Silkypix, then "developing" them as JPEG so my computer would read them... they are all labled as JPEG, but the initials before each pic number is either IMG or IMGP.
The IMG load on Shutterfly, but the IMGP ones don't.:confused:
Any idea what the "P" is for on the end of IMG?
Any idea how to get rid of the "P" so I can use the pix?

Ah - so put it in "P", found the RAW on the menu...and it took on Raw... reads DNG... I can fiddle with it in silkypix!

Begs another question tho
Isn't pushing the raw/fx button supposed to change it to one raw and one jpeg? I'll need to check the book again... I appreciate your help

Hey all. Totally new to DSLR and thot I'd take an image in RAW (K-30) and play with in the silkypix. Windows XP. It takes the JPEG but not the RAW image. :confused: Um....how do I get the RAW image on my computer and into silkypix? Any clues will be appreciated! Thanks!

so its true: I feel a little weird introducing myself.... but I've been enjoying y'all's site for a few weeks now, so I guess its time:o
I'm Alliecatirish and very happy to be part of the group! Just made the switch from SLR to DSLR couple weeks ago, with the help of this forum's reviews, opinions and question/answers forum. Yup - jumped from a K-1000 to a K-30 - "Wow" doesn't describe.
Enjoying the camera immensely and have lotsa questions as I experiment with it; grateful Pentax includes an actual hard-copy whole user's manual in the box! :lol:
