Win8 - what a kludge!

I have a little bit different point of view.

I have two windows laptops at the moment. First one is over 6 years old (big and heavy 15"), running windows 7 and there are no problems with it. Yes, I burned a hard drive but I don't think that anybody is protected from that.
Second windows laptop is 6 months old - bought it because of better screen and it had to be lightweight (like a notebook, 13"). That means, I have two working laptops and the old one is still a working animal.

I think quite often the problem is not Windows but the laptop itself - hardware costs money and good one even more.

Converging verticals

Thanks rawr! I just tried out the DxO Viewpoint and I love it. It's so much more easier and functions are more clear than in PS.

kh1234567890, The problem was actually me over reacting. I see it now. But it was also a little bit of confusion and still a little less knowledge about converging the verticals.
At the moment I'm a little bit ashamed for this little panic, BUT I still learned new things and discovered a great program.

So, big thanks to everybody for sharing knowledge with an interior beginner!

No money for tilt-shift lens yet. But the first answer was quite informative. Thanks a lot :)

Hi everybody!

Since now I've been taking pictures of architecture and encountered some problems with vertical but nothing very serious. I've managed to fix them.
Now I thought I'd just start and see what happens indoors.

The shot I have as an example, is taken from a corner to another corner.
The problem is with the corner you see on the picture. The vertical line is correct but two horizontals are far from straight. Tried to fix this in PS, but didn't work out at all. To be more exact, noting really happened. For correcting verticals I use Transform tools. I also looked up some tutorials from internet but they weren't much help either.

How could I fix or avoid it? Never shoot into corner again? Or do some heavy Photoshop?

Event Messenger 250 seems to be the best option at this moment. Lowepro hasn't disappointed my friends, so it should serve me for a long time.

Yes, that's quite a lot of weight. Need for transportation is one reason for this bag.
Second reason is using it at the field. I also have a backpack but using it at the show or theatre performance is really difficult. And I won't be having full gear in there 24/7. It will definitely change.
Luckily I don't have any big-big lenses, longest one is about 15 cm.

I like this one,.but there's one problem - haven't found a retailer in Europe. So I'm still open to different options and opinions.

Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a new camera-laptop shoulder bag. The main problem I keep running into, is that one bag seems to be exactly too small (not 100% sure since I haven't seen it in real life) and the next one too big again.
For example Tamrac Rally 7 vs Tamrac Super Pro 13

I'd like to fit this equipment in there:
13" thin laptop (asus ux32vd)
2 bodies (1 definitely with lens)
flash
2 lenses

As said before, I'm not really sure what to choose. I remember that there were Crumpler Messenger(?) in various sizes but I find specs only for XXL or L size.
I took a look to Manfrottos webpage too. Looks like they a lot of choices, but in the description I find only: "fits laptop, DSLR body and other gear." That's not really helpful.

Hopefully some here has a personal experience with similar stuff and shares it. Or maybe has some other suggestion.

I also like it because the fire lasted just about one and a half minutes and at the start I was in front of the stage. It wasn't easy to go back.

I'm just curious. To what picture exactly this comment goes to? The first one with fire?

When I read K10 manual I had the same impression that I need two external flashes. Actually built-in flash fires a little pre-flash to trigger the "slave" flash for taking the picture. It came as a surprise for me too.

Big thanks to everyone. I changed the built-in flash settings in camera and it works a lot better for me now. Not perfect, but it'd good enough for now. In the future I'll look for radiotriggers.

This is very useful. From time to time I was wondering why the flash is not working. Now I know. Thanks.

There's a flash problem that's been bugging me for a long time and internet is full of Canikon flash system but nothing very specific on Pentax.

Right now I have Metz 48 AF-1. If I want to use it wireless then it's triggered by camera pop-up flash. It's really annoying since the pop-up flash ruins the whole picture. I have played around with diffusers too, but it's still disturbing me because the light is coming from the direction I don't want it to come.

I would like to have a possibility to use the flash off camera and without pop-up flash triggering it. Is it somehow possible with Metz 48 (read manuals and didn't find anything)? Or should I look for different flash(s) that can work without pop-up flash? Which one then?
Camera is at the moment K10, but I'm going to upgrade to one of the K-5 series in few months.

HI everybody!

I'm actually pretty surprised that I joined the forum today. I've had Pentax cameras since 2006. It really took about 7 years! We'll, now I'm here because when looking for information I always ended up here finding the best answers.

At the moment I shoot with Pentax K10. Sometimes I shoot with film cameras (but they're not Pentax). My favourite areas are concert, street and architecture photography. Lately I'm getting more into interior photography - but it's not very easy. But for me the challenge is sometimes the most important thing. If I manage to conquer the challenge I get bored. Instantly. So I'll look for another one.
