I tend to write very long introductions, but I will attempt to keep this short. I've been doing photography as a hobby for about two years. It started when I came across photos taken with a Holga on the internet. After some consideration and research, I went ahead and bought my Holga 120N. I had fun with that for a little while, but the cost of medium format film made me look into getting an SLR. After some research and such, I ended up buying a Pentax PZ-10 with a Focal MC 80-200mm lens. It was $30, which seemed like a pretty good deal. After I took some photos with that lens, I found that it tended to be kind of hazy. That's when I bought my SMC 50mm f/2 prime lens. I shot a roll or two through that lens, and then wanted to experiment with flash, as I have not yet used flash in any photos I've taken. But I didn't feel like wasting a tremendous amount of film and having to wait to get it developed or develop it myself. So I decided to get a K-x, and that was about a week ago.
If anyone is interested, I am decaffeinatedjoe on flickr. And I'm not sure if it's an accepted practice to post photos in the introduction section, but here is a photo I took of a squirrel yesterday with the K-x and Focal MC 80-200mm lens, I guess it would have been the equivalent of 320mm focal length in the photo: |
