K30 with aperture block Asking Price
0.00 USD Item Location
Florida (United States) Item Description
Red K30 with aperture block, free to good home. It works great but you need to adjust aperture manually. The dog picture was taken with this camera using manual settings. Autofocus is fine (or was last time I used it). It takes a rechargeable battery or 4 AA batteries -- I'll throw in both the original pentax battery and also the piece that allows you to use AA batteries.

I have both the Pentax A 50 f/2.8 and the Vivitar 55 f/2.8 and they are two of my favorite lenses. The Pentax is smaller and lighter, for sure. But both have beautiful rendering and are fun to use. I use them for macro and also regular shooting, and can't really decide which I like better. If you don't mind manual focus (and manual aperture, for the Vivitar), they are both a great bargain. If you want more samples, some photos taken with Pentax A are here: Pentax-A 50 f2.8 macro | Flickr and with Vivitar are here :Vivitar 55mm f2.8 macro | Flickr |

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale - PRICE DROP
Pentax SMCP-DA15 f/4 Ltd Asking Price
260.00 USD Item Location
Florida (United States) Item Description
I bought this lens on this forum a few years ago, and while it's an amazing lens, I have realized that I am just not a wide-angle shooter. This copy is in great shape with no issues. Comes with the original bag, front cap, built-in hood, and back cap (back cap may not be the same one it came with, as I switch these out while using lenses). This is the SMC, not HD version. I have attached a picture from today that shows its starburst ability. For more picture taken with this particular lens, see Pentax DA 15 f4 Ltd | Flickr. There are also many photos on this site taken with the DA 15 that show the lens's range and abilities. Are you the original owner of the item being sold?

I love the A-35 f/2.8 -- extremely sharp and fun to use. If you're interested in zooms that cover that range, the A 24-50 and M 35-70 are also both really nice lenses.

My oldest son's college graduation was a great place for people watching. Amidst the smartphones and screaming and waving throughout the crowd, I loved the calm feeling of this woman's hands.

The super program works- I have had film in it and it's working properly. It has batteries and the electronics work. I haven't put film or batteries in the ME super but shutter and advance lever work, camera is very clean, and everything looks good. I'm adding the ME super and vivitar lens as extras since I haven't tested them as fully but they seem functional and have no obvious flaws.

PentaxForums.com Marketplace Listing Item for Sale
Super Program + 2 lenses + ME Super Asking Price
75.00 USD Item Location
Florida (United States) Item Description
Pentax Super Program film camera (also known as Super A) with SMC-A 50 f/2 lens. Camera and lens are both in good working order. They are clean, free of fungus, haze, etc., and have both been tested. If you want to try (or get back into) shooting film, the Super Program is a great choice. Batteries and strap included.
This comes with an SMC-A 50mm f/2 lens, which can be used with auto exposure modes. The lens is in great shape and also works on DSLRs. It comes with front lens cap.
Here's the forum review section summary of the camera: "The Pentax Super Program (called Pentax Super A in some markets) is a versatile A-series film SLR featuring support for P, Tv, Av, and M exposure modes. You control the shutter speed using the push buttons on the camera, and the aperture via the aperture ring. Both can be set to auto (given you have an A-series lens or newer), which then brings the camera into Program mode. With M and K lenses Av and M exposure modes are available. The Super Program was first Pentax with Program and Tv auto exposure and it also had TTL flash control, but even with the added electronics and mechanics the camera body is just about as compact as the original Pentax ME. Disregarding the Pentax LX which is in a class by itself, the Pentax Super Program is the top model among all Pentax manual focus cameras when it comes to features and specifications."
Along with the Super Program and A-50 lens, I am including another camera body and lens:
- ME Super body: this is another great film camera. I have not shot this with film but it is very clean and the shutter and winder work, so it should be ready to go. Comes with original Pentax strap, but no batteries.
- Vivitar Series One 70-210 f/3.5 lens (this is the desirable Kiron-built version 1). This is a legendary manual-focus, manual exposure zoom lens. This version has a "crippled" mount (see photo) and cannot be mounted on a DSLR as is. However, I have mounted it on a couple of film cameras and it is fine. (It is possible to cut or sand the mount in the back to fit it on a DSLR, if so desired.) Comes with front lens cap.

PRICE DROP! Item for Sale
Pentax SMC DA 18-135 F3.5-5.6 ED AL [IF] DC WR Asking Price
NEW PRICE $180 Item Location
Gainesville, Florida (United States) Item Description
I bought this lens new and don't use it often. I have considered selling it in the past but always decide to keep it because it's such a solid, useful lens. This lens has many virtues: the best autofocus of any pentax lens I've ever used. Very useful and flexible zoom range, good sharpness and picture quality, weather sealing. However, I have too many other lenses that cover this range, so I need to let it go. This copy is in excellent shape -- I bought it new and haven't used it much. Glass is clear, no scratches, no fungus, no haze. A little "tiny dust" as with any used lens but there's no effect on picture quality or functionality. Comes with both front and rear caps and removable tulip hood. Please let me know if you have questions!

PS. I chose these samples not for their amazing quality as photographs but to show some of what this lens can do -- interesting bokeh, decent sharpness, and nice colors. I'm also impressed with the lack of purple fringing shooting skyward. Adding a couple more photos here -- color version of my dog, showing the bokeh better than the black and white version. It's unusual (compared to my other old pentax lenses) and not the bokeh I would always want, but it has its own charm I think. Also one more landscape -- a very challenging shadowy setting, which this lens handled really well. This is at least a 50% crop in low light.

Another A-lens that does not seem to have a review. The A version of this lens seems to be much less common than the F and M versions. I have not tried either of those, but I saw a copy of this lens used and purchased it based on the good reviews on this site. I purchased it lens primarily for the wide end, and I have used it mainly for landscapes. However, it holds its own at the longer ends also and is thus a great walk-around lens covering slightly wide, normal, and slight telephoto ranges. Thus it's a very handy focal length for both digital and film. Although it doesn't have quite the same crispness as primes in this range, it's sharp enough and renders colors especially well. I do not use it very often, in part because I love my M 35-70 lens so much that it is my usual choice when I want a short telephoto. However, the A 24-50 fills a great niche and is a well-constructed, fun lens with its own character. All photos here taken with K3.

There doesn't appear to be a thread for this wonderful lens. I cannot remember where or when I purchased mine, but it is one of my favorites -- versatile, sharp, and full of character. I'd love to see other people's photos taken with this lens. All of these were taken with a K3.

Went to the botanical garden today to use this lens more, especially the macro function. I'm very happy with it. Beats my FA 100 f/2.8, I think.

Time to downsize! If you are interested in trying out manual focus or adding to your range, here's a cheap way to do it. I would love to sell these as a lot for $35 plus shipping, or separately. All these lenses have solid metal construction and are a pleasure to use. They are all capable of getting very nice images, on film or digital. I have tested them all recently on my K3 and they are all clean and working perfectly (except aperture on Vivitar, as noted below).
I'm attaching photos of the lenses and a sample picture taken with each. Ladder is with 50mm, pink flowers with Vivitar, and raccoon with 135mm. Also, what looks like fungus/dirt on the 135mm lens is reflections of trees overhead - glass is clean
Pentax A-50mm f/2 -- this has "A" setting (auto-aperture): $15
JC Penney 135 f2.8 -- fully manual, no "A" setting; has a nice built-in hood: $20
Vivitar 70-210 f/4.5 -- has "A" setting and also a macro function. However, its aperture is stuck wide open. I am not sure if it came this way or happened somehow when I used a Dremel (mini-sander) to reduce the size of the metal protector on the back, so it fits into digital cameras. I took a bunch of photos with it like this and didn't notice it was stuck until I removed it from the camera. It's very sharp wide open, so this did not bother me, but it may be fixable if you are handy. $10
