There are a few more significant differences between the Q7 and the QS-1, like the AF is much quicker. Someone on youtube demonstrated the speed difference. The larger sensor has better ISO performance and diffraction doesn't start until F5.6 versus F4 for the original Q.

With the QS-1, you can either press the OK button or touch the manual focus ring on the lens to return to the magnified view.

Yeh, it was a work with what ya' got shot and more showing that the lens works great on the Q in macro. If I was only half as creative as some of the masters on here. I bought an ND1000 filter, it's kinda fun but it would be so much better if the Q wasn't locked at 30 sec exposures. I think it was Barondla that posted a work around for the original Q but, it's only usable in some situations.

My small Q bag usually carries two bodies with multitudes of goodies such as adapters, AF extension tubes, filters, quick release neck straps, viewfinders, loupes, a dozen lenses with a flash, a half dozen batteries with a small tripod hanging off. I'm still looking for that cheap 08, it seems to be getting further away from me. =-(
The Q is why I switched to Pentax and why I've stuck with the brand for so long. The system is so versatile, fun and weird at the same time it's hard to say no.

I have the 28mm MC and it's a keeper. I know this is an old thread but the lens is still relevant. If you are looking for a good and cheap 28mm, this is it. To get focus with the 02 and the 16mm extension, the only option is at 15mm touching the UV filter. The longer extensions are great for longer focal length lenses. It's manual focus of course. The working distance on a Jupiter 9 (85mm) using the 21mm and 16mm tubes is 11", 21/16/10mm tubes is 7 1/2", 10mm by itself is 19". I haven't figured out the actual macro power but with all three there's no question it's well over 1:1 with the three tubes.

The KAF4 mount doesn't seem to have an aperture lever, does that mean it can't be stopped down with the official Pentax adapter? I am about to buy a WR 55-300 but, it looks like I need the non-PLM if I want to use it occasionally with the Q.

My better half says Pentax OK but, if you bring home a Canon you will be sleeping in the garage. She's and ex-pro wedding photographer and love's the Q's.
