Hi all, been lurking for awhile, figured I'd best say hello. I've been out of SLR photography since the '80s and just got back in last year with my K-5. I have to say, I am freakin' loving digital photography, thanks to the post-processing software that's out there (I'm using Adobe Lightroom). The way I see a scene in my mind, I can actually make it look like that now.
I'm very happy with my choice of Pentax so far -- lens choices and quality far exceed my modest abilities.

I'm using something similar. Mine's made by Maxpedition -- love it. Very heavy duty, not too big, not too small, fits a camera body and a couple of lenses and everything else I need for everyday (camera) carry. Keeps my camera close at hand wherever I go. I like it because it's easier to carry over one shoulder and more natural-looking in public than a backpack, but better suited to chunky camera equipment than computer- or document-oriented shoulder bags. Yellow because I have a bad habit of losing track of stuff I set down.
I cut out a piece of 1/2" soft foam for the bottom, otherwise I'm not too concerned with padding. The pockets on three sides and the padding on the fourth side should protect the contents from any minor bumps.
