I am so glad you shared this thread!😉

I think exactly what you eloquently wrote! I feel a kinship with my K10D
But the K-5 I use when I am in a rush, cause it always gets the job done, I think the higher ISO is the main reason, plus the metering is good, low lighting makes me pull out the K-5,I also have never had an issue with my battery running low so do not have the added one, for my K10 I mean, however I am not a pro out there taking a gazillion shots in one shoot!, 😊just a pretty savvy amateur!

Awesome thank you for the input, I love my K10, it goes nowhere!
What do you think about the difference between the K1 and the K1-ll? I'm feeling like the K1 will be a good choice.

So lesmore49,
I since the posts, have acquired a Pentax-A zoom 1: 3.5 35~105mm
And find the clarity of the glass amazingly clear, hand held, I have some beautiful images of my granddaughter in motion swinging! Have not used the tripod under it yet, I'm a fan of old school so the manual focus isn't a distraction, I do not have to refocus after zooming in or out after initial focus. Very nice.
I'm glad you brought up the lens in the previous post.
1984 was a good year

Okay dipo 1, I will try what you have suggested, USCamera is out of stock on the buttons! and the paper clip DID work, after trying further... since you folks out there said it worked, so that is awesome, I have been unable to change the lens for over a year and a half.

Okay I have seen a lot about this trouble with other K-5 owners, I too have the same problem, but in the mean time, has anyone figure out how to get the lens off! in some McGyver way? A paper clip....did not work for me.

Thanks all
Brenda

Nice, lesmore49, I have your same sentiments, clearly and sounds like a nice lens you bought in 84, I love my 300mm, it renders such clear photos, caveat....must use a tripod, which is fine for me, I have a bogen that I have had a long time, so a perfect trio!

Also btw K-1 owners...how does the WiFi work on the K-1? it would seem folks would run it off of a phone hotspot?

Great everyone, Sure appreciate all of your input, je ne sais quoi, haha
That is pretty on target, the K5 metering is better, it focuses faster, and has much higher ISO, and if I need to be quick that's the camera I grab. I use the K10 all the rest of the time, it just feels good.
Never have had any trouble with it.

Oh and I mentioned earlier about the lens release button debacle, I mentioned CRIScam, for repair, used them years ago with my ZX-5
And now I see 1 or 2 others that look reputable, any feedback out there concerning where else I might consider sending my K5? Or is CRISCAM still the best?

Thanks Pentaxian friends😉

Wow, thank all of you for your very in depth and collateral thinking of so many areas to consider, just what I was looking for. determining whether my lenses support FF, is a biggie. I have a couple lens that are nearly 30 yrs. old, And I love that I can use them on DSLR's obviously in manual mode. I will be pulling out my little books that came with each lens to check that out. My K-5 is definitely faster that my K10, which was my first leap into digital, I will hold onto my K10' I'm sentimental that way:)

The lens release button...has disappeared, from my K-5, which really stinks, pretty costly point and shoot, plus my 18-55 is on it, I need to send it to Criscam.
Yep, on the nose too Steve_k, it is a want for me as well!

Again thanks all!

Okay I have been looking at the Pentax K-1 full frame,I have the K10D also K-5D and a few film SLR's (dating myself!) any thoughts from those familiar with my Cameras. The light meter works so much better on the K-5D than the K-10, but I prefer the K10 for whatever reason...over the K-5, EXCEPT for that smidge of a detail, mostly I shoot in manual mode. Is the K-1 as awesome as I think it is??? I hope it is, but then what is the deciding difference between the K-1 and now the newer, K-1, II.

Experienced feedback is very welcome.

Thanks,
Brenda
