The old Uniroyal/Fisk Plant in Chicopee is being demolished. It won't be long before you can look to the sky and not see this guy. This was from an obscure angle on the back side of the property. Living here over 30 years, I never new the company name was on the chimney. Norman Rockwell featured Fisk in many of his paintings. Here's what's left of the original factory...

It's taken me a while to stumble upon this site but I'm so glad I did. I'm John and I live in Western, MA. I'd classify my self as a beginner to slightly intermediate.
I'm shooting with a Pentax K-x that I bought almost 4 years ago. At the time I worked for an Apple store and half the crowd was Nikon and the other half Canon. What pushed me to the K-x was that my mom had a K1000 when we were growing up so using the old lenses she had was appealing. Of course, after I bought the camera, she has no idea where the lenses she had went. haha. But nevertheless, I couldn't be happier with my choice.
I've actually had some recent luck at some local tag sales picking up some goodies so the lens database has been very helpful as a frame of reference.
