Well, since i started the thread, just to let you know, I bought the FA* 28-70 2.8 and the FA 28-200 3.8/5.6... I bought also the K135 2.5, but it was arrived with fungus and i sent it back... the vendor proposed to change it with the M135 3.5 but i preferred a refund. Now it's time to play with my new lenses :D

I've found today the FA* 28-70 2,8 at about 450$... what do you think? Does it worth the cost and the weight? It cost more than i've budgeted, but since it is usually so hard to find , maybe I should make an effort and buy it?

Thanks! The problem is finding a good one (or one at all, truth said)... I'm searching on european eBay, but FA20-35 seems to be unfindable! I found one from japan, at near 400€, plus VAT and import taes... :eek:

You hit the point :) I'm going to buy one great lens in the future, when i'll buy the FF; for now i'm searching a pair of "good" legacy lenses to play with :)
I discovered that the real problem is find used lens on the european market... Probably I need to have an holiday in the US :)

For now, I'm keeping an eye on a F35-70 f3,5/4,5 at 60 Euro...

Thanks for all your advices! I'm looking for some lenses you suggested, and by now i found:
M28 f2,8 at about 50 Euro;
F35-70 f3,5/4,5 at about 80Euro;
FA28-200 f3,2/4,5 at about 100 Euro;
Sigma EX DG 28-70 f2,8 at about 240 Euro;
Pentax A 70-210 f4 at about 56 Euro...
what do you think? Unfortunately here in Italy there isn't a rich used market...
I'm searching for 35-105 but i didn't find it yet...

Hi everyone!
With the announcement of the new full frame :p I would like to buy a pair of used lenses with good value for money, which can cover all standard focal lenghts ... say from 24/70 to 200mm: i prefer landscape and portrait photography.
At the moment as full frame I own the FA 100 macro WR and the FA 50 1,4. I thought something like a couple of zooms, like sigma 28-70 2,8 and one 70-200...
I searched in the database but there are too many lenses in the range :o
Any suggestion?

Thanks in advance!! :):)

Just a brief update like I promised: the service has returned the camera after replacing the display in warranty, adding also a protective film. Now everything seems to be fine :)

Thanks to all! Yesterday I went to the shop and they sent the camera to the service center. They say it could take about 20 days to return, as soon as I have notice I'll keep you updated, hoping everything will be fine!

Personally I've not, but the camera was the last one in the shop and I fear that someone of the shop has cleaned it with something wrong... :mad: They assure me the camera was never used and just took out from the box and I trusted them.

The spots seem to on the glass, surely they aren't bad pixels... under normal light the display seems ok.

If I remember well, the plastic protector was already removed when i bought it... :confused:
Tomorrow I'll go to the shop to show them the problem...:hmm:

Hi, thanks for your reply! Unfortunately It's not a problem of brightness; in normal conditions the brightness is ok and the spots are invisible; the problem is under direct sun light: obviously the display is darker like any other normal lcds in that condition, but the real problem is that the spots became very visible and make difficult to see the images.

I've just bought a new Pentax k-3; I notice using it under a sunny day that I hardly can see the photos in the display because it's like "dirty", as you can see in the photo attached. At first I thought it could be sweat or oily skin, but by cleaning the spots do not come off. It almost seems that they are below the display. In normal condition it can hardly seen. Do you think it is a manufacturing defect?

Ouch! Do you know you're putting another variable in the equation? I've said before I'm not very good in math :D Seriously, now I'm going to read the review... Anyway, could you compare the sigma with the da35,24 and DA21LTD? They costs pretty the same: 155+550 Euro the last two, against 670 the sigma..

---------- Post added 08-07-14 at 09:26 AM ----------

your photos are amazing, really! Did you put a lot of contrast in PP or is a property of the lens itself? BTW, I'm really tempted :)

---------- Post added 08-07-14 at 09:35 AM ----------

Thanks, it's quite simple, indeed...
First, I exported as jpg (I work with PEF) a bunch of selected photos from lightroom in a specific folder;
then I downloaded Exposureplot at this link: Vandel.nl the homepage for Wega2 the Image Viewer and Exposureplot the Exif Analyzer utility, a free software that analyze a specific folder and read the EXIF data. Fatto! After the analysis, you can adjust your graph and save it as bmp...

For the other graph, I used Numbers by Apple, but I'm sure you can use otherwise excel or open office. I put on the x axis the specific focal lens and on the y axis the name of the lens and relative max aperture (for getting that number I put my camera on AV mode and tried to set the max aperture allowed for any specific focal lengths)... then I selected the area of the data and generated a line graph... thats it! :)
More difficult to say than having it done :) (Especially if you're italian and don't write in english very well :p)

I tried to change the values but didn't succeed :S I can only add quota with aperture value over any single point. I'm not really good with Numbers :hmm: Anyway, for the second graph I've chosen about 1500 shots from about 3000, using the program Exposureplot to draw it.

---------- Post added 08-06-14 at 10:45 PM ----------

Thanks to all! At the end probably I'll buy the DA21 and the da35 2,4... I don't really need them , but I want really try them! I'm also gonna keep the M50 and 28-200 unless I can sell them for about €100/150€. Regarding the 18-135, it's too good as all-pourpose lens for getting rid of that... Probably in the future I'll replace the tammy with the 16-50 and at that point I'll make other decisions.. :)

Ok, now I have only to see how much this change could cost me... :confused:
What about IQ? From what I read it would be near the same as before, right?

I'm not very good with graph, I was playing with Numbers just before leaving for holidays :)
In fact I was just thinking of a DA21, but what block me is the max aperture, 3.2: compared to the Tammy 17-50, is the increase of quality worth it?

---------- Post added 08-06-14 at 03:22 PM ----------

I'm fully aware of it, unfortunately... In fact I was looking for some wise advice here in the forum :p

---------- Post added 08-06-14 at 03:35 PM ----------

I agree with you... The only problem that I see selling the 18-135 is that I'd loose the WR in that focal range... What if I sell the 17-50, 18-135, 28-200, 10-24 and buy a 16-50 star and sigma 8-16 (thanks VoiceOfReason for the suggestion :) )? mumble... Could be a good idea?

Thanks! Actually it is what remains from my previous camera, K100D along the 50M1,7... I'm not using it anymore, it's too soft and bulky. The latter is a good lens, but since I bought the FA50 has lost sense.

Well, I'd like to improve IQ near the focal lengths I'm using more often... I'm tempted to buy a Limited lens, but not sure if it's worth and which one. The fisheye it's a good idea, I've never thought about it. I'm only thinking how often I could make use of it...
The truth is, I'm afraid, that next week I'm going to visit NYC, and I'm searching some reason to feed my LBA at B&H store ;)

Hi to all! I'm a new user of the forum (even if I've lurked a lot in the past years... ), and I decide to start my partecipation with a suggestion request. :)
I like to do mostly landscape and sometimes some portraits and macro.
Here I post a graph of my actual lenses lineup, where I represent max aperture at any focal length, and a graph of the focal length I used in the last 1500 photos. I'm using a K-5 II, but I'm going to get a K-3 soon.
I'm thinking to sell the FA28-200, and buy the DA35 2,4, and maybe something else...
What do you think about that? Have you some suggestion? Something to buy (LBA is increasing... :D), or something to sell?
Thanks in advance to everyone!
