Old post, I know. But thanks for pointing these out.
As far as I can see, we can use these to apply some of the standard in-camera profiles to raw files in Lightroom. So far, I have not been able to have LR import the raw files while applying the jpeg settings (shooting raw + jpeg) as I can with some other cameras. Anybody solve that yet?
I heard it was a matter of the camera manufacturer sharing info with Adobe (or not).

Rollins is a genius, both creatively and in his articulate communication of wide-ranging (to say the least) ideas. I took my teenage daughter to one of his photography talks. We were both riveted for a few hours.
Nice shots. I agree the one with the audience is best to me.

Sure seems okay to me. This is my first image from my new 40mm. Had one years ago and never should have let it go.

I am 45 yrs old. I still have the K1000 that I got in 6th grade. Actually, it went to a friend for many years. He was still using it when I asked for it back.
I did get a CLA (reasonable, after nearly 30 yrs), but even before that it worked fine.
I've never beat it, but it has not been babied, either.

I had a 300 / 5.6 Sears lens on my first SLR (a K1000, which I still have and use). I miss that old lens. I remember taking some great shots at Eric Clapton, Ted Nugent, Black Sabbath, and Grateful Dead concerts with it. That should tell you that it was many (30?) years ago!
It really was a great lens. Multi-coated, compact, sharp.

Mike,
I recently recovered my first "real" camera - a K1000, from a dear old friend. Just got it back from Eric Hendrickson, and it's working great! ~33 yrs old and all!
Great fun.

I didn't mean to start any color debates! I just have been wanting a nice black one to go with my beater black one, and nice silver one.
I know, it won't take any better pics. But, I like it.
I'll post some as soon as I get them.

Just gloating a little, here. Just received my black Spottie in the mail!
I took a chance, and picked it up from that Bay site, Buy It Now. The pics weren't too good, nor was the description.
I've been wanting a clean, black Spotmatic for some time. This one also came with a very nice 55/f1.8 lens. Overall in great shape! And, it all seems to work. I figured if I got one clean enough to warrant a CLA (ala Eric), that would be sufficient. I don't think this one needs anything!
I know, I know - this is all academic until I show some pictures. I'll work on that.
Just felt like sharing my joy at opening the box!

Just got my K1000 back from Eric today. It's the camera I started with 30 some years ago. I just recovered it from an old friend.
Eric got it back to like-new operation, and extremely fast! Got it back in about a week!

I got mine back, and it feels just as good in my hand today as it first did ~32 years ago! So good, in fact, that I shipped it off to Eric Hendrickson for a going-over! Can't wait to get it back.

My 7 yr old daughter just asked "Dad, what was your first camera?" Well, in truth, that was a Kodak Instamatic. But my first "real camera" was a K1000. Then, I remembered that I had given it to a friend.
I contacted him, and he's still using it! He did agree to send it back to me, though, in exchange for a little Ricoh RF that I can send to him.
So, my daughter will get to use my first real camera! I can't wait to explain shutter speeds and f-stops to her.

As a father of a healthy 6 yr old daughter, I applaud your Lianna project. Tells me again just how lucky I am.
And, I'm a lover of Spotmatics, too! : )
Very nicely done.
The picture in the bath is heart-wrenching, and reminds me of the famous W. Eugene Smith photo (Minolta Photography - William Eugene Smith 1918-1978)

Hi from Northern Virginia! I'm an avid photography fan, and shoot all kinds of equipment.
I started with a K1000, however, and recently bought two old Spotmatics (now have a 50 f2, 55 f1.8, 35 f3.5 and 135 f3.5). I love these old kits!
Anyway, hope to get to know some of you here, and share pics.
