We went out for a walk. I had mounted my vintage Vivitar 135mm 2.8 on my Pentax K-5 and made some nice shots with this combination.

The foto is uploaded from my iPhone gallery, so i had to guess the ISO, schutter speed and aperture.

Sometimes helpful to have a Girlfriend who's photogenic. Practicing some portrait photography before the summer! My first real attempt and quite pleased with the result.

Wondering what others think of the edit and composition, is there anything I could change?

Maybe somebody tried to clean some fungus the box looked like it had been stored under some pretty damp conditions.

---------- Post added 07-12-18 at 19:58 ----------

Fixed it, it was the element before the rear element that was inverted. Now the lens is sharp. Thank you hive mind ;)

This video showed me how to open it (since I figured it would be pretty similar to the 135, it was.

From last Spring's protest against gun violence. I'm really liking what Nik Silver efex pro does in reworking harsh lighting. Also, the FA77 has really amazing resolution when stopped down, which you can see better if clicked

Misc The Despicable Pentax-M 85mm F2

Its not despicable at all - quite the opposite.

I used some Lego characters as my subjects, and made the one from 'Despicable Me' the main one. Just a pathetic ploy to get you to look, and hopefully comment :) 1000 posts still needed for this month's raffle....

Pentax 85mm F2 Bokeh by Fred Widall, on Flickr

I shot the Lego characters from approx. 3'. The characters were approx. 1" apart and I had some Xmas lights set up approx. 8' further back. I shot wide open at F2.

I find this to be a wonderfully sharp lens.

While I had things set up I tried out a few more lenses:

Bokeh Test by Fred Widall, on Flickr

The lenses are:

A- SMC Pentax-FA 50mm F1.4
B - SMC Pentax-M 50mm F1.7
C - Super Multi Coated Takumar 55mm F1.8
D - SMC Pentax-DA 40mm F2.8
E - Super Takumar 50mm F1.4
F - SMC Pentax-M 85mm F2

They were all shot wide open at maximum aperture.

Fred.

That's the going price for any quality AF adapter these days. The Canon EF-M to EF adapter is the same price... Metabones is twice as much. Sigma MC-11 somewhere in the middle between the two.

Shame, though totally expected as it always seemed a bit half baked/underdeveloped/wilfully obtuse. I had a J1 then picked up a V1 even cheaper that still gets some use, can be a bit lacking in some departments but the AF and metering remain impressive today and the burst rate can be a boon for picking your moment:

Always wanted to try the FT1 adapter, guess it might be the time to find one.
