This ad's been circulating all over the Greater Toronto area for almost 3 years now. It was even on one of those highway bill boards along the DVP. Maybe it's still there but I haven't been on the DVP for awhile.

Funny you ask this question because I have all 3 of those lenses.
With my style of street shooting the DA*50-135 gets the most use. 2nd would be the Tammy 28-75 but thats now for sale :) My DA*16-50 gets used mainly for studio use.

definitely good price. but i'm guessing most people already have the DA50-200 and aren't willing to sacrifice the size/weight.

fair price... i would've picked it up for that price if I didn't already own one. I'm actually considering selling mine to make room for the DA35.
bump for a fellow torontonian.

Wow, i just ordered one through Henry's and they only charged me $289 + taxes (CDN). Mind you they had to order it in from Pentax Canada and it took a week and a half to get to me. Still better off getting brand new with warranty. Good luck!

why does this always happen? I just bought one for full price brand new shipped to my US mail box just across the border. Then I drive to pick it up then come home and see that someone is selling for so much less then what I pay. Damn it!
good luck! / bump!

Getting the APO version is well worth the extra $$$. I had this lens and found it to be a very very good performer outdoors with good lighting. Stopped down 1-2 stops and it was very sharp. However I didn't like the contrast or the colour rendition from this lens. The contrast was a bit weak and the colours were very pale looking. The lens was built like a tank so it was heavy. The zoom room felt stiff and when I brought it back to the store they said it was normal and I tried another copy in-store and they were all the same. Another thing to note is that this lens didn't like cold weather at all. Anything colder then 10 degrees celcius and this lens wouldn't allow me to change the aperture and made my K100d spit errors on the top LCD. It wasn't the body because I tested with other lenses and it worked fine, once I placed the Sigma on, it went bezerk. I returned the lens and exchanged it for the Tamron 70-300Di. I found the Tamron lighter and better balanced. The zoom ring was better dampened. Better contrast and colour rendition. Sharpness was probably equal but the Tamron produced more CA between 200-300mm.

I used to have this lens like many others. Mine didn't suffer from the dreaded lens separation at all. It was superb as an outdoor lens or when using with ample lighting. I used to use it on my K100D with the Sigma EF500DG Super and it produced brilliant photos. It was very good at f4 and marvelous stop down 2-3 stops. As long as you can find a good copy of this lens it's well worth it. I regretted selling the lens so I ended up replacing it with the Tamron 28-75 f2.8 which I find to be a very good lens, even better (sshhh don't tell Pentax).

I've bought lots of stuff from them. Quickest shipping and best prices around.
sorry you had a bad experience. but in my experience combining shipping for different ebay items can get tricky since most ebay sellers automate their process. sometimes what I do is have them ship it to my sister who lives in British Columbia for work and then she brings it back home just to avoid paying the full GST and PST (13% tax). She comes back home the 1st weekend of every month so I usually order the week of or prior so I don't wait long until my gear gets to me. Call me cheap if you will. lol

1)Pentax smc-DA 16-45mm f4.0 - SOLD
The lens is in immaculate condition and I've had it since Fall of 2007. The lens comes with everything including the hood, front/rear lens caps, original box, and packaging. Nothing wrong with the lens at all. I just replaced it with the new DA*16-50mm f2.8 lens. 2)Pentax smc-FAJ 28-80mm f3.5-5.6 [$20]
-still in good shape. No dust or scratches on glass.
-this is the kit lens from my old Pentax film bodies
3)Pentax smc-F 35-70mm f3.5-4.5 Macro - SOLD
-in excellent condition. The optical quality of this lens is superb. Only reason I’m selling it is because I now have a lens that covers this focal range. Otherwise it packs beautiful quality in a small package. This was once my travel lens.
4)Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm f2.8 - SOLD
-brand new in box w/ all packaging
-62mm front filter thread version/serial #0912xxxx (Cosina Made) 5)Pentax smc-DA 50-200 f4-5.6 ED - SOLD
-in mint condition. Only reason for selling is because I don't get any use for it. I don't find myself using this range often. Since I've had it, I've only used it maybe 4-5 times max. Comes with original packaging, caps, etc.. http://www.jmeelo.com/images/vivitar1.jpg http://www.jmeelo.com/images/vivitar2.jpg http://www.jmeelo.com/images/vivitar3.jpg http://www.jmeelo.com/images/vivitar4.jpg http://www.jmeelo.com/images/16-45_1.jpg http://www.jmeelo.com/images/16-45_2.jpg http://www.jmeelo.com/images/16-45_3.jpg http://www.jmeelo.com/images/16-45_4.jpg |
