This picture shows on the fore ground rowing men; a marine history that is connected with my city Rotterdam.
Rotterdam is one of the largest port cities in the world.
The back ground a dark brown building can be found that sits between skyscrapers.
It is the Holland Amerika line-building. Between 1873-1978 people moved to New York in search of a better life.
Still today the head office of this company is located in Seattle, Washington.
I wanted the composition to look like I shot this from a ship leaving the city to New York.

Thank you all! I've been using my camera for two weeks now and it is way more intricate than an entry-level camera. But I like to learn.
Just today my newly ordered second hand Pentax 1.7 50mm came in! I am amazed by its size, very petite and fantastic optics.
The weight of the K5II is substantial though, I aimed for a compact camera body, I guess I'll have to carry the weight then :)
Coming from a light weight Canon 1000D, it is a major change, for the better though. I like the build quality and grip is great. Battery life is fantastic.
Due to the price point in my country, I could choose between a Canon 700D, Nikon 7000D, Sony A65 and the K5II.
Here are some shots I made at home.
Merci, thanks!

Hello everybody,
Im a Dutch male, I have Turkish roots and I speak Japanese as well. This is no joke, it just sums up my whole identity in one sentence.
I hope to be getting better at photography in general as I am starting to find my way around the controls more easily last weeks.
I have purchased the Pentax K5 II with a Tamron 17-50mm f2.8. It is a great machine I already can tell. This is my first proper dslr, my previous camera was Canon 1000D, yes I know..:o
I'm in the process of finding old manual focus lenses to use with my new gear. I still have my dad's old film camera a Chinon CX with a 55mm lens on it.
Hope to catch you all later,
Greetings from the Netherlands, Rotterdam,
Yavuz
