I haven't shared here in a while but I am attempting a 52 project this year so hopefully I'll have more to share. Both with the original Q and the 01 lens

They make a lovely set, the colours all seem to have a likeness, really excellent work.

The battery had over 3/4 charge left but I have it charging so will try again after it is fully charged.

I took the Q + 01 out for a night time walk and came across this guy. I was impressed with this little combo at night :)

I have, and I have since taken photos with the same body and the 02 lens so it looks like a lens issue. I really havent warmed to the the 02 lens either, so maybe it is time I gave it a bit more time!

Hi everyone, I took my Q + 01 lens out for dinner on Friday, it was in a neoprene pouch in my handbag as it usually is, yesterday I grab the Q, it switches on, runs dust removal and then switches off again. I try cleaning the conectors on both camera and lens, change the battery etc - no joy. I put the 02 lens on instead and there are no problems. I am sure that my 01 lens is under warranty still but wanted to see if anyone had run into the same thing?
Thanks!

i really love the Q section of this forum, I agree that it is a very open minded and peaceful kinda place. This is straight off the camera from last night, no PP (Original Q + 01) Fluffy Blanket + Snoozing Dog + Bleach Bypass Filter = Captured a cosy & peaceful night

This is such a wonderful thread. Ionky upgraded from my K100d last year, it had suffered from dust inside the body for a few years and then finally gave in to some kind of mould growing on the sensor - no one i know has ever seen anything like it! - so I upgraded to a K7 ... I hated the colour rendition initially, it took me a while to get used to it.
I still look at my favourite k100d shots and love the colours, so now I am on the look out for a copy in nice condition to continue producing such unique results

Thanks, Its my favourite too, I was just about to walk away so It was a true case of if i didn't have the Q I would never have got the k7 out in time to capture her!

I've been neglecting my original Q a little lately but fell straight back into my Bold Monochrome + 01 lens love affair. I think I really need the 06 now, I just had so much fun out street shooting today.

I have to admit that I don't mind spiders for the most part, but that close, that big and with that reputation - No Thanks! Great pictures though.
This is possibly my favourite shot I've achieved with Q to date, I visited Princess Grace Park in Monaco after heavy rain, as per usual I only had the Q on me and an hour to kill, This is straight off the camera, no cropping or PP. 01 Lens, Bold Monochrome on the front dial
Also straight off the camera, I really like the colour rendition
And I got lucky when a pigeon waved at me, others from today need a bit of cropping etc in photoshop. |

You got me! I love a bit of silver body paint!
I found a bit of wall, it had a domed top but it was better than nothing. I think I need to get myself a gorilla pod to have in my bag alongside my Q at all times, although I do think those Manfrotto pocket supports look good too, just perhaps not as versatile?

The end result is wonderful, I really love the colours.
I stumbled across a firework display in Monaco, I happened to have the Q in my bag, 01 lens, no tripod made it tricky though. In the spirit of the Q I tried out quite a few different settings, once again I am really pleased with the colours from this little camera. |

Thanks, I really love the Bold Monochrome setting, especially for relatively simple compositions, I would like to know the formula for it as I have taken some photos, then looked back and thought, damn I wish I shot that in BM, I can't quite seem to recreate it myself in PP. This is about an hour and half inland from where I live, which is Nice, and it is almost constantly Hazy here, one side of Nice bay to the other is probably about 4 km and after 10 months I have yet to see a day clear all the way across the bay and most days halfway across the bay is Hazy, any Hazy shooting tips welcome here please! I will have to look into a polarizer for the little Q lenses and dig one out for the K100D to try too.
Thanks so much, It's a beautiful part of the world, nice to escape the city for a bit, The Gorges really are a terrific sight, many of my photos suffered the typical Mountain shot problem of looking too flat and not majestic enough, but hey, it's part of the learning process right?! The Q held up really well, I'm still finding my way around it so hopefully by the time my next trip there rolls around I'll be handling it a little better.

I too really love the second spider shot, a great capture!
I took my Q out to the Verdon Gorges in Southern France with my K100d, it was solidly grey, miserable day but very bright. I found the conditions tough but have some pictures I am a pleased with from the Q.
The next morning I took this shot out of our bedroom window using the Bold Monochrome setting, It was the opposite of the previous day, incredibly bright. |

This is my first contribution, I have had the Q about a week and purchased it for on the go, fun shots and like everyone else on this thread I have found it to be a bag full of very pleasant suprises. Today I was playing around with the in camera filters, hence a few images of only 2 subjects. All are SOOT except for some cropping in photoshop. Also I am not very good at PP, it is something I really need to get my head down and learn.
Firstly, Meet Owl. He is glazed, cracked pottery so provided some interesting textures. This is fairly accurate for natural colours for reference. 01 Prime.
Next Owl in Bold Monochrome
And finally owl in Unicolour Bold
Villefranche Sur Mer Train Station - 02 Zoom Lens
Colour Isolation
Bold Monochrome - Maybe a bit too bold for me here, but certainly packs a punch!
Thanks for stopping by and taking a lot, and for any constructive comments, I aim to share to improve!

Ahh makes sense. Yes I am really pleased with it so far, at first I struggled as I felt the colours were less punchy than my k100d but with the DA 55-300 I have just recieved as well, it is a very nice combination, I have been housebound for the last week or so and that's a frustration as it's not really an inside length but the time will come when I can properly put it through it's paces! Hopefully I will have something nice to contribute soon.

I am in France aswel, I'm down in Nice, how about you?
I am originally from London and the natural light here is unbelievable compared to London, the K-7 is lapping it up!

Hiya,
I am new to this forum, but have been an active memeber of another Pentax forum for some years, stumbled into this forum because you have a lot of Q users and an amazing thread of images from said Q. I shoot with my beloved K100d and my new K7 and am just looking into getting a Q.
Nice to meet you all!
