Got a pentax 77mm limited from a Japanese seller through amazon. AF does not work. Asks for input of Focal length. Does this mean that the lens AF is broken? is there anything i need to check into before i confirm that the lens AF is broken. Please let me know

Just wanted to know if new PLM lens will be FF compatible or just crop mode on K-1 . I have read in other threads that the old DA 55-300 was compatible om full frame. I guess the new one also should be... Or it is to early to ask as the lens started shipping from last week.

i feel something is moving inside my new K1. Is this normal. Never had this behavior in k3. if this is already asked, please guide to me that thread.

Strange thing is , Morning the UPS did not have an idea as to where my package was. They even told me to file cliams. Evening i see the package at my door step. Thanks all.

@ C_jones, Thanks. Yesterday the status was "Out for deliver" and today it want back to transit and they dont know where the package is. I dont see any other option than to wait.

I ordered last week from Adorma and UPS missed my K1. now i need to wait 10 days to know where my K1 has gone.:mad:

I ordered Pentax K-1 last week from adorama. Was eagerly waiting for it to be delivered yesterday. UPS did not deliver it. Spoke to UPS guys and they dont have any idea where the package is. Called up Adorama. they said, they are contacting UPS to understand what went wrong. Now i need to wait 10 business days to know where my K1 has gone...is there anything i can do other than waiting?

The problem came back again yesterday. Found that all the modes, Aparture, shutter , program do not work as intended. That is Autofocus does not work in any of the modes. Strange thing is when set in USER mode, all the modes work as intended. Even the Manual mode works. Strange behavior.

Thanks steve. The lever was in AF mode. And the AF simply did not attempt to focus. I think i need to sit down and try to reproduce the issue.

Thanks all for the responses. let me put what happened. I was attending a photography training and i was trying to set the custom white balance. I was given a wireless flash trigger. i put it on. set the camera in manual mode(ISO-200, Aperture 7.1, shutter speed 1/125). Tried to focus. But no response. i was using sigma 17-50. Later on thought that it may be a lens issue, and changed to FA 77mm limited. Same issue. I had to shoot entire training in manual mode. i got around 50% good shots
Reached home, updated my firmware from 1.10 to 1.20. Now when i am Manual mode, AF works. I am still wondering what happened. Not sure what i was doing wrong.
