The bubble level is a good idea.

I went to the beach and took some shots with the horizontal level activated
and it was level, but I'm concerned about digital aberrations in the image.

I depress the shutter half way to lock the E and F and take another view be actuating the shutter, but maybe I
should be more conscious of that.

I've noticed that if I tilt the camera slightly down to the right, I get level and the level graphic in the lcd screen seems to force me to do the same thing.
I'll test it out on the tripod and see what I get.

Na Horuk,
I don't usually use shake reduction and I thought about the curvature of the horizon, but my images are tilted. I'm using the focus box in the viewfinder and the top and bottom edge
in the viewfinder to achieve level, but not having any success. Looking at the electronic level diagram in the LCD, the viewfinder appears to be tilted. I'll try your suggestions. ---------- Post added 07-11-14 at 04:49 PM ---------- Adam,
Thank you for the advice, I'll try it.

I have a k30 and I'm having a great deal of trouble holding the horizon level on seascapes. Is anyone else experiencing this?
Could my sensor be out of alignment?

Adam, I tried that, but the SR is not highlighted in the info screen or the menu. Also, when I change manual zooms,
the camera doesn't prompt me to set the focal length. What am I missing?

Help! I have a k30, and I can't seem to activate the shake reduction. I shut the camera off, attach a manual focus zoom lens,
adjust the focal length setting, but the shake reduction doesn't come on. What am I doing?
Bob.

The rattle in my camera is only obvious in live view, is that your experience too?

Every time I use Live View I hear a ratteling, and when I remove the lens, I can see something moving around in front
of the LCD screen. When I attached a screw mount mirror lens, it was so loud it sounded like the battery was floating around.
Should I contact Pentax?

Does this Tokina function the same as Pentax-a series lenses, when set to A on the aperture ring, on my k30?
That is, will I get a view of the f-stop and shutter speed, along with EV bar, in my viewfinder.

I knew that part, but what I didn't know was how to read the exposure. I called Pentax, and customer service
told me to adjust the shutter and aperture till the ev scale reaches 0, and that is the average exposure,
like making those adjustments till the needle splits the circle with a film camera. After hearing that I feel
stupid.

Hello, need help. I just bought a k30, and I can't figure out how the meter displays recommended exposure in manual mode.
I'm used to using film cameras where the needle indicates average exposure. What am I missing? Thanks, Bob.
