I have a VF-2 which fits very well on my Yellow brick. Whatever you use it should have a 3-2 aspect ratio to fit the LCD viewfinder. No diopter was not a problem for me, I can use it with or without glasses and it is great for manual focusing with either manual or auto lenses.

I just got a used copy of the Tamron 17-50 2.8 so.
1. Tamron 17-50 walk around
2. Pentax M 100 4.0 Macro for mostly macro photography.
3 Vivitar Ser 1 70-210 Macro which will be replaced with Pentax DA or DAL 55-300 which would be my # 2 lens.

I use focus peaking with 6X magnification via the OK button with M lenses but also use a V2, inexpensive LCD viewfinder. It works well for macro and some action photos where the distance is predictable like surfing. There are better LCD viewfinders with diopter adjustments and the K-01 has a 3:2 aspect ratio which means the V1 or V3 would not work as well.

It was:
My DA 18-55 kit lens until it fell out of my camera bag and the autofocus stopped working.
Then it was my Vivitar Series 1 28mm F1.9 but I sold it.
Now probably the DA 40 kit lens that came with my K-01.
I am looking for a new walkaround lens, leaning towards the Tamron 17-50.

Hello,
I am new to this forum but got here by way of the DPReview SLR Pentax forum. I started using pentax's with my first purchase of a Spotmatic and three lenses at a Canadian BX in Germany back in "66 or 67". I have also owned an ist DL and currently have a yellow brick K-01. I have been selling some of my collection of lenses. mostly manual, to pay for a good walk around lens which is why I came to this forum. Looks good so far and am in the shopping mode but still have some lenses on Craigslist which I may post here.
