A hand held panorama of 9 shots taken while out birding with my K3iii and DFA 150-450. I found this lookout and the view was stunning wide and open, just proves what you can do with a longer lens when push comes to shove. The 9 shots were taken in portrait orientation then stitched together in photoshop.

These lovely little birds migrate 2000km to nest in Perth WA each year. I passed my K5 on to a student on exchange here from France as he was interested in photography .. an old school buddy (from 1974) who has had a rough time of late is using my QS1 as therapy to get out shoot and do something, I would love to be able to gift him the K70 as it would be the perfect starter camera for him.. and he would be able to join in with the Perth Pentax User Group.. fingers crossed for Noel

I got the 150-450 initially used on my K3 then I moved over to the K1... now I have the K3iii and love it on this body... I thought the pollen on this Lorikeet's head was noise and I even shot some bees on our Native Christmas tree (Western Australia) on the same outing. I use a black rapid strap and hand hold all my shots.. if there is a 600 on the horizon as good as the 150-450 I will be saving my $$$ to get one....

Its like waiting for a baby as the expectant father .... I have K20d, passed on my K5 to a student, a K3 and a K1 I am hoping the new crop will be just the trick with the 150-450 for wildlife... I would love Pentax to revive the 600mm f4... just a bit of a gamble buying from ebay.

I would mortgage my house for a DFA 200 to 600 f4.5 - f5.6 The 150-450 is a great lens but sometimes i just nee that lttle extra reach.

I have been using the K1 with the DFA 150-450 and the biggest difference over the K3 is ISO with the K3 I found 800 was good 1600 was not quite there for me...with the K1 I seem to get a nice image even at 1600 or 3200 iso...when hand holding in some lighting conditions i need a faster shutter speed..The link below is a Rainbow Bee Eater from my flickr. My wife let me buy the Pentax 150-450 and use it before Christmas, she even sat in the car and read a book while I went looking for birds. Lucky man am I.
