Thanks, and yes at night I would be spectacular but they close the place around 5pm and everyone have to leave. They actually check the whole place so that nobody stays behind for the night ;) ---------- Post added 01-07-17 at 10:15 AM ----------
Thanks :) Amazing place but if you do go, forget organized trips and go by yourself. This way you can stay until closing time and enjoy the sunset and do not have to deal with the huge amount of groups of tourists who arrive in the morning to see the sunrise and then leave around noon :) I stayed until I was told to leave, and even took one hour nap which was super cool and relaxing ;)

Lake Churup lies at an altitude of 4450m in a big cirque with the snow covered Churup summit in the background. It's a one day moderate to hard trek up with some vertical walls to climb using attached there cables. And even though it's not an easy hike it's well worth the effort. The lake is spectacular in colors and beautifully surrounded by mountains. Andes, Peru.

One more thought, I had an opportunity to play with Samsung NX1 and I have to say that if Pentax incorporated that sensor and samsung's amazingly fast processor into new Pentax camera, and kept the quality of K-5/K-3 I mean man! That would be one amazing camera ;)

Exactly, I'm a travel/landscape photographer and I'm a lite bit tired of people saying Pentax don't need FF and more MPs cameras because of 645D/Z. Going for a travel shoot for one month I'm not going to carry with me heavy and big medium format plus big and heavy tripod to support it. There's no FF from Pentax and I think I already made my peace with that fact. But I would love to take my weather proof and small k-5 IIs, with excellent battery life and be able to get that extra resolution in "one" sensor shifted photo when I need it, instead of zooming in and taking 6 or so panoramic photos... :)

Well, I'm no expert but stars sensor shifted tracking via gps unit is very precise in my opinion, maybe there are other obstacles we are not aware of..

AA simulator yeas, but also gps tracker(O-GPS1) controlled sensor movement on K-5 for instance. I know I'm simplifying things here but this sounds like a good option to have.

Just read about new Olympus E-M5 Mark II. And I find this feature very interesting: "it can also record 40 MP still shots by shifting the sensor and creating a composite image" And since Pentax cameras can shift their sensor too... Why not incorporate this feature into Pentax bodies? Possibly by only firmware upgrade? Imagine Pentax K-5 IIs or K-3 able to produce 40 mp file when you need it!!
Of course, I'm aware of the fact that Ricoh will never incorporate that in the already discontinued K-5 or discounted K-3 but still.. Sounds like a good idea to me ;)
What do you think? Possible?

Well if u decide to do it yourself it's around 20-30$, you just need to buy IR lens filter and cut it to the size of the IR-cut filter that is in front of the camera's sensor.. ---------- Post added 10-17-14 at 11:42 AM ----------
Yeah, that's why I decided to convert my camera, no need of caring around your tripod ect. ---------- Post added 10-17-14 at 11:44 AM ----------
Very nice pics fwwidall, these days K-x is a very affordable camera with nice specs and without AA filter it's very sharp ---------- Post added 10-17-14 at 11:47 AM ----------
Should have recorded the whole operation ;) I don't think I'm gonna do it again any time soon especially that putting SR system back together is quite tricky ;)

Well you can do anything in Photoshop... but in this case is not the same. Those pics were taken in the afternoon when the sun wasn't that strong so trees didn't glow as much. Glad you like the pics :)

Hi Everyone!
Having a bit more time recently I decided to do something with my first Pentax DSLR, K-x. Since I got myself two K-5 IIs my red K-x spend it's time in the box. Then, one day I got this idea to try IR photography and since sending your camera to a company that does the job costs around 400$ I decided to try DIY. All together it took me around 4 hours, It was a bit difficult because I couldn't find any info on how to get to the camera's sensor(I mean step by step). I guess Pentax cameras are not very popular IR material. Now i know why ;) SR as glorious system it is, it is also a pain in the neck when you need to get to the sensor and getting it apart is not as challenging as putting it back together ;)
But I did it! and here are two of the first photos I took with my RED Infrared concerted K-x. Anyone else tried to convert their Pentax? Feel free to share your thoughts and IR photos :)

"So, our engineers are engaged in the development of full-frames, but with the question of when to launch/release the product, we will want to carefully study the market trend." I'm going to do you Ricoh/Pentax a huge favour. Stop studding the market trend here comes the answer: Nikon is killing it with the FF, they are probably making more many on FF cameras and lenses then on other stuff. Therefore, unless there is some kind of revolution in the sensor technology coming and APS-C would be able to match FF with the high ISO/low light performance, you Ricoh should stop studding the market and start making FF DSLRs or Pentax cameras are going to be just an episode in a serious photographers' life; going from colorful entry level toys past K-5 II/K-3 to CaNikon and staying there buying lenses, accessories and never looking back... And personally, I would hate to see that happen for Pentax. But you need to provide the needs of your customers if you want to stay in the market, and no more excuses that if we want FF we can get 645Z/D. It's huge, heavy and it belongs to studio/fashion photographer, I'm not gonna take it with me for 4 weeks trekking in the Himalayas or any other travel/landscape photography trip...

The story short: I desaturated this photo in Photoshop, then applied motion blur filter, played with levels. Created copy layer and with transformation command(edit) I made it look like a mirror upside down image and moved it to the bottom of the photo so that it looks like a reflection in a water. :)
