Very good article.
really brings to light, what is essentially, a microcosm of what seems to be going on in the US.
Truth has taken a back seat to perception, and the sensationalism is driving perception.
The scary thing is that by the end of the article I could imagine people proclaiming that it was all BS because it was written by a democrat.

Very true, no system is perfect.
While I will not deny that our system has problems, I would choose it over the American system any day.
Though of course that is MY preference. Its quite obvious others would choose differently.

Well I am in Canada but I'll give you my perspective.
In this situation, I could sometime next week. (Blew my knee 2 years ago)
OR
Tomorrow if i wanted to pay out of pocket for it.
In another case, I need MRI's on my heart. Cardiologists wants me to have them Bi-annually. First one will be in January (6 months since my last) and I will put in the requisition for it middle of December. So for a MRI check up its probably about 3-4 weeks.
Another situation (seen multiple times when volunteering in ER) if I was to come in with an injury that Triage deemed to be potentially life threatening, and an MRI was needed. I would get that MRI in the time would take me to get to the Diagnostic imaging wing.

I am in 100% agreement with you. I myself will have heart operation soon, and I will not have to sell a car or mortgage a house.
This thread is about "how would we do it because the numbers wont work" ... well a vast number of other countries have figured it out. Yes they are all different but they made it a priority and made it happen.
You should see the debates in Canada when the scandalous notion of a private option is brought up!...

Let me know if you have any interest!!

The only thing that seems to be globally constant in Health care is that no one wants theirs changed.
I consider myself fairly conservative (For a Canadian.... therefore I think that makes me communist no?) but I love our health care system.
I had a major surgery last year that required a week hospital stay. From first consultation to when I stopped getting at home care, the whole process took 4 months, 1 one of those months includes hospital stay and at home care.
I will most likely require two more surgeries in the next year (one being a major heart surgery) and I am pretty happy that I wont be 1) paying out of pocket or 2) living at the mercy of my insurance company who control my monthly rates.
I realized last week that nothing makes me appreciate Canada (as a whole, not just health care) more than reading these political forums or the "Discussions" that happen on Foxnews.com / Cnn.com. I don't know why i even look at those... "Discussions"... but i surmise it has something to do with the same reason people cant look away from a train wreck..

Any help here would be appreciated!
I am looking for opinions on the processing of these two shots.
If you have seen my other thread under a similar heading, it explains that I recently proposed in Bermuda.
I have been playing around with these 2 pictures and at this point I don't know which versions I prefer.
So let me know what you like! PICTURE 1 Version 1 Version 2

I proposed to my girlfriend of 6 years on my recent trip to Bermuda.
We will probably have some proper shots done, but while we were away I took a couple of her with her new little ring.
I'll post a few here, and in another thread I'll ask about which processing works best for a few pictures.
