I think, Pentax can provide an adapter sits between body and "traditional" lens.
This tentative solution can be done as next generation of lenses will not depends in body motor to adjust aperture and AF.
Both motors will be part of lens.
Its body only sends signal to lens.

1. I can't believe the amount of negative comments about this. Stay at home and don't buy it, I wish you'd keep your trash talk away from here please.
2. I'm getting one as soon as the K-mount version comes out.

I'm sure these lenses are impressive. And I'm sure it's fun to own a concave lens. But as an optical designer, I can tell you that beginning your lens design by diverging the beams is not something that is commonly done, and for good reason. In fact, part of me doubts that the front element really is concave, I've never seen it.
Calling a concave surface a "new design enhancement is preposterous.
Because they do. Witness the 70-200, 16-85, 28-105, 150-450, 60-250, 31, 43, 77, 21, 15, 70, etc.

Strawman again, folks. Normhead is debating with an opponent of his very own creation. It doesn't reflect reality but it's convenient for his argument.
At any rate, after all these years I've discovered this cool "ignore user" feature. It's like tweaking the signal to noise ratio. Guess I never had a use for it before here in Antioch.
Not trusting one's reading comprehension to chance -- Normhead, this means I won't be able to see your reply. But feel free to continue, you weren't addressing me anyway.

I need fast modern primes. The old limiteds are cool and all, but they just don't hold up to modern glass.

The 1dx mark 2 sounds great.. but.. still a 29min59s recording limit . Even for $5999 ? Really ? Sigh. ---------- Post added 02-25-16 at 08:07 PM ----------
Who would ever put a DSLR on their head ? A DSLR is not an action camera. I want 4K for better indoor video quality with the camera on a tripod, personally. ---------- Post added 02-25-16 at 08:10 PM ----------
You can't just "add" black bars if your image is 16:9 . You have to crop the top and bottom of the video. More cinematic, sure, but silly. Fewer pixels that were captured by the camera to actually show.

At base ISO the APSC cameras are really good already. It mostly depends how much you push the photos in PP. If you add +100 contrast, +3EV, +saturation, then the K-1 should have some more room before showing noticeable noise.
The other thing is resolution. For many uses, you don't need high resolution. In fact, it can be annoying, as it means larger file size, more CPU power required, slower transfer rates of photos, and you also need to be more careful as shake blur will appear sooner than with a lower MP camera (also you would ideally need sharp lenses, though most DA lenses should be fine). But if you want to make large prints that will be viewed up close, or if you want to crop a lot of the frame away in PP, then high resolution can be really great.

Yes but I was not totally clear what I meant is to pursue the Q system and adding an EVF could be very profitable for the knowledge about EVF and with the succes of the Q system and the long time experience on DSLR they would be able to developpe a new line of product a third one
It is pure speculation and if it is not the place I apologize for that but what I really want to see is a possible EVF on the Q .
I agree with your vision about the next Q announcement and for now it is FF time ... it remind me an old song my grand pa told me ... it was : "full frame time! full frame time! full frame all the way! ^^ ;) muwahaahahaha

Perhaps that thread should just be moved to the sample photo section? That seems like it would solve the accessibility issue in the simplest manner possible.
As for lens database, there is a "camera used" field for each review posted. In the near future I plan to make this field searchable so that it's easier to find reviews for specific camera-lens combinations.

The 645D special edition was manually painted by a traditional process called urushi-e. A similarly made FF can only be a very limited edition, high price product; OTOH a gunmetal grey could very well serve as a "workhorse".

Now photo plus expo is closed and I don't see any annouce from Ricoh nor for the Q system ( I was about to say Q continuum ^^) I guess the annouce was the fortuitous exposed FF pre-production body ;)
It would be very cleaver from Ricoh to drag out the Q system and add a EVF to test for a MILC with a bigger sensor to prepare the future because it seens to be the current trend may be ?

For the price the Tamron is going now I'd have to say it's the best bang for the buck...people here talk about it not being sharp at 600mm...I've tested it against the Sigma 150-600 Sports and to me, the differences were not big enough to cover the cost difference.
Below are some examples:
600mm f6.3 (wide open) 100% crop:
The same scene with f8 at 600mm (slightly different position though), full size on Flickr: Blue jay by luftwalk, on Flickr
I've owned a Sigma 150-500 back when I was on Pentax still, and this lens trumps it hands down...went from that Sigma to the Pentax DA*300 with the AFA 1.7x TC...it was an upgrade compared to the Sigma...a considerable one. After switching to Nikon I bought the AF-S Nikon 300 with the 1.4 TC, but sold the 300 in order to buy the Tamron...IQ might be a hair worse, but it goes to 600mm, is a zoom and handholdable...with VR. Didn't regret the decision since.

Maybe you're right. I've read some reviews and it seems Tamron and sigma are very comparable. One will out do the other and vice versa in different categories.

You mean, camera manufacturers should simply give up to a market which is more than 3 times larger than the MILC one, just like that?
Those mirrorless fans are so amusing...

All that takes electrical power, which chews up your batteries faster. Sure, the DSLR mirror and the power drive for your AF are going to do that as well, but those only use power when they're moving; the EVF and the back screen use it ALL THE TIME, and one of them at least is mandatory on a mirrorless camera if you want to get your framing and composition right. If you're lying in wait for significant periods for some animal to come out of its hole or step into a clearing, that's going to shorten your battery life no end. For sure, one of those DSLR niches you talk about is going to be wildlife photography. Those who like taking pics of guest fly-bys by historic aircraft at airshows likewise need to wait for their subject to turn up.
I suspect it's going to be the other way - DSLR makers will get better at projecting important information onto the viewfinder or injecting it optically into the pentaprism somehow, in a selective fashion. The resulting technological race could be interesting to watch.

There are adapters (Metabones makes them for example) that lets you use FF lenses on APS-C cameras without crop. I imagine the other way would be possible too.
