Budget Field Monitor for K1

I use a smallHD DP6 - 4 years ago it cost me almost $1000, it's amazing how much the price of these have come down :) I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work - AMAZING value for money!

The HDMI lock is a really good feature, and a sunshade is handy. Only concern would be battery/power supply. It doesn't come with a battery so you'll need to buy a few Sony L-series type batteries and a Sony L-series type battery charger.

Beyond that, looks fine to me!!

Remaining stock is bound to sell out at this point. But you should be able to get one second hand for under 3k!

Cannon and Nikon both upscaled into the compact camera and "DSLR for soccer rmums boom" that has now died due to mobile phones. Then they were competing for market share with expensive advertising and sales incentives for sales staff. Now with sensor tech hitting its limits disrupting the replacement cycle, and third party lens manufactures upsetting the IQ apple cart they are in trouble. The biggest problem for a small player like Pentax was keeping up with the tech war, Now that its over they can schedule their releases to minimise remaining stock and keeps cost as low as possible. In some ways the lack of third party lens choice increases their profitability when they release an amazing product like the K1.

Weather is not good but here's a pixel shift with motion control on. 24mb jpeg converted from lightroom
With the cyclist and water and clouds, i think it was tricky but turned out well ! It is trully amazing in my opinion, the details on the floor is awesome. This is with the Da 16-45mm @ 21mm, F8 aperture priority.I have set the PS option on the fx1 button so its really easy to turn on and off, that K1 body is just pure joy to use !!

I actually bought my Z because the Canadian dollar was weak. I was in Calgary last Spring (when they were first running the free 55mm special) and saved about $2k USD versus buying it from B&H

You can order online from most place (Yodobashi in Japan has a page dedicated to international orders to answer any questions), but I was traveling across Canada for the entire month. I just called ahead to the shop and asked them to hold one for me. There is an import tax, but it's not much

I spent my money on a 645D instead. I may still get a FF, but I'm not feeling a sense of urgency about it and probably won't be pre-ordering.

I would have been in that boat with you... if not for my pair of Nikon bodies. I got impatient and my needs outgrew what I could do with the K3.

I don't doubt there will be quite a few who will upgrade just to use the FA Limited's again. Heck, when they drop in price/go used I'll be right there picking one up.

Depends on if you want to be an early adopter. I usually do, but I can hold off this time :)
