I have a JJC it works fine with the Q and K-01. Battery in it was a bit weak but I replaced it and it works even better, much better range now.

Good to know it's not just mine that is doing it. Must be a firmware bug of some kind. I noticed it will jump to f2.0 when you autofocus with back button auto focus (green button for AF) as well. Even if you don't focus and try to take it at f1.9 it will still jump to it and record it as f2.0. I noticed the same behavior in video mode in that it will jump to f2.0 from f1.9 if you autofocus. However in video mode if you manual focus and don't use AF it will let you record at f1.9. Weird bug. If others have this too maybe we can try and get Pentax to fix it with another FW update. Doubtful since they haven't done one in ages but would be worth a try if anyone has someone we can contact at Pentax about it.

Just noticed an odd issue with my Pentax Q original version. In Av, Tv, Bc, modes etc. I can shoot at f1.9 with the 01 lens. When in manual mode I can select f1.9 but when i take the shot it goes back to f2.0 and says f2.0 in the recorded shot data on the Q. Anyone run into this? Seems like a software bug or something since it works fine in other modes. I tried resetting the settings and that didn't fix it either. Any ideas on what to do or is this normal in manual mode? Q has fw 1.14 and 1.01 for lens. Thanks!

Guess you missed the part where I said my spare one was exhibiting the same problem. It was not inside the camera. I also have only left it maybe a month or two at most. I've left my pentax oem battery in it longer than that and it's older than both wasabi batteries and is still perfect. Plus if you take the battery out of the Q for a long time you risk a failed capacitor which stores the time and date info which is a common problem as you can read on this forum. Another thing I noticed with the Wasabi batteries is that even when new they never powered the camera as long as the oem battery does. Crap cells and they claim they are premium japanese cells which I highly doubt given their short operation life and lifespan compared to the chinese oem pentax. Ordered some more Pentax ones to replace them will not risk my camera with crap batteries again.

I've had 2 of the Wasabi batteries about 3 years or so now and they were lightly used. I hadn't used my Q in a while but got it out today to shoot some birds. The Wasabi battery inside the Q was stuck and the Q wouldn't power on. I had to gently pry it out with a very small screwdriver. After getting it out I noticed both sides of the flat surfaces were bulged. My spare Wasabi battery was also beginning to show signs of bulging as well. My factory Q battery is still perfect no bulging issues. Just wanted to warn others that these can potentially get stuck and I can't recommend them based on my own experience with them. Had the battery burst completely or caught fire the magnesium body of the Q would surely be a major fire hazard. As such I will be buying only genuine Pentax replacements this time around. Buyer beware.

I bought a Q 06 lens from them once. White box item taken from a dual lens kit. No warranty on the lens but it was cheap enough to risk it for me.

Want it but feel like it will be cheaper sometime in the future. Willing to wait. Most times I buy lenses I buy too soon and kick myself later after seeing all the sweet deals.

I bought a Q 06 lens from gadget circuit once. It was white box, obviously separated from a 2 lens Q camera kit. Saved over 100 bucks though so in that case I felt it was worth the risk.

Active Trade and fulfilled by Amazon is legit. I bought this same lens from them over the summer no issues and came in Pentax factory packaging as new. Paid a bit more though :/

I bought the first one looks like. Haven't seen this lens priced under $1000 lately so figured it was a good deal, considering excellent used ones are going for as much. Don't see it getting much cheaper but who knows. Perhaps updated version is coming soon as rumored.

Got mine today. Comes exactly as shown in the picture. Appears to be authentic with Tamrac tag and Tamrac plastic bag it comes in. A little bigger than I was expecting but still smaller than the more square shaped amazon basics large bag I have. Will use this when I want to carry less and something with a little slimmer profile.

Full details on the new Q-S1 have been released. Pretty disappointing imo as it is just like the Q7 same sensor and resolution but uglier and with that stupid knob grip. Also still using the archaic 460k display when it needs 920k or better imo. No viewfinder or viewfinder add on mentioned so another missed opportunity there.

I got a doa 06 zoom once that wouldn't auto focus or function at all. Returned it and won't be buying another 06 till the price comes down a bit.

Yeah don't get me wrong it works fine. Just that when a battery sits for years in a box it goes completely dead and sometimes they cannot be fully recovered. In my case the battery recovered but I had thought maybe it was a dud at first given the fact i got the blinking green light rather than the constant green light as it should.

Yeah I got a white dual lens kit from them a few months back. Battery charger did the blinking thing for a long time but it eventually charged. Batteries in these kits are getting old as my battery was made in mid 2012.
