Action Jackson - ISO Auto 200 - 8000. JinDesu - the images are correctly exposed.

JinDesu - for some of the inside shots I was using a recently purchased DA50 lens. With this wide open at f1.8 I couldn't get below ISO 6400, for a shutter speed of 1/100.

Thanks to all. My problem is that the behaviour of the camera seems very different. Last year in Morocco - similar light situations, same lens (DA18-135), similar focal lengths (usually less than 50), same EV compensation - I was shooting outside at 200-400 ISO routinely and never above 6400 inside, often lower. Using exactly the same approach to shooting, with similar aperture settings, in Spain I could rarely get below 1000 ISO outside and was usually above 10000 inside.

rawr - thanks for your interest. The camera was set to +0.3 EV as always, otherwise it under-exposes, and no filter. I'll try the reset to defaults as you suggest - but first I'll wait and see if anyone suggests a particular menu setting that I might have screwed up.

JinDesu - I'm new to the forum, and not sure how to post a picture with EXIF. To give you some sense of the problem, I took around 2000 shots on holiday. Most were in fairly strong daylight, but only 50 had ISOs below 320. Lower ISOs gave me unusable shutter speeds. The camera was set to +0.3 EV compensation, just like it always has been - in the past I've found that otherwise it under-exposes. Thank for your help.

Just back from holiday in Spain, where I found that even in bright conditions I was having to use very high ISO values. In outside shots, in aperture priority, I could never get below 320 at f10. In inside shots in churches - not that dim - I was having to use 8000, often much higher, and the widest aperture while the rest of the group were quite happily getting reasonable images on phones and point-and-shoots. Predictably I've ended up with poor, noisy shots. I've not used the camera much before, a first version K5, and hadn't had a problem before. I'm not aware of changing anything significant in the settings, the lenses are the same. Any suggestions appreciated. :(
