The macro is not essential, but one of the publisher eg. (OFF-ROAD DRIVE: Главная) wuold like to always ad for the story some native pictures which told something for the area nature eq. if some berries are famous as buckthorns, cloudberries or other hand in the swamp you see many nice creatures what you can't reach anywhere else .. some close shot details... The macro is not essential but closer you can get.... always better.
Lens changing, you and conditions are usually so dirty and so many bugs, it will take a time...

Two cameras is not an option. If you have to walk 10-15kilometers per day in a swap and cross the rivers by walking and keep your camera somehow ready and dry, it's not an option.

Yep, I know that I'am making a compromise. I already have Pentax 16-50mm/f2.8, Pentax 55-300mm/f4-5.9 and Sigma 70mm/f2.9 macro. In some situations (eq. motorsport) you will loose the best picture when your are changing the lens. And two cameras does not sound good idea..

Both cards has been bought through official dealers, so no problem. I call them today and both will change the card for the new one. That formatting helps Transcend but not Kingston. Anyway thanks for help!

I have now used two diffrent manufacturer cards Transcend and Kingston SDHC cards. Size is both 8Gb. Usually as a new cards takes about 330 pictures in DNG format, pictures size is then little over 23Mb. Problem is that both cards are now somehow failed and Transcend eq. stops after 200 pictures...
Are todays cards disposable? Both has been format in a camera before the first use. What cards you would recommended in 8Gb size? Camera is K20D...

I spent last week photographing Ладога-Трофи Off Road -competition in Russia. Pictures will go to Russian 4x4 -magazine and one Finnish 4x4 -magazine. Taking about 2500 photos in very hard circumstances. I actually once float my camera and brand new 55-300mm in a swamp when I was crossing it. The reason was that I was the wrong side of the swamp to get "good" pictures so I have to "swim" to the other side. And I was more than happy when my K20D works and new zoom was able to work just after filter cleaning.
So K20D is really made for hard places where you need your camera reliability. By the way the new 55-300mm is excellent.

I just picked up my 100-300mm/F:4 today, I have possibility to test autofocus speed beforehand and it is fast and accurate. Lens is quit heavy so my old Velbon has to go....has anyone experience of Berlebach tripods (Stative von Berlebach - Eine echte Alternative! Holzstative aus Eschenholz), looks quit well made and tripods material is intresting... I'am not intrested in Gitzo's...too common and overpriced...

I ask this HSM question for our country (Finland) importer Foka Oy. And they answer that HSM for Pentax (and Sony) are always also APO II lenses, Sigma doesn't upgrade HSM feature for old ones. She give me two example zooms both new ones: APO 50-150mm F2.8 II EX DC HSM for Pentax and Sony and APO 70-200mm F2.8 II EX DG MACRO HSM for Pentax and Sony. Finnish importer didn't know when 100-300mm/F:4 will be upgraded for the HSM -feature.

Ok, thanks a lot. Pentax 60-250/f4 is coming too late (I need telezoom end of April) and I'am not so sure Pentax 55-300mm/F4-5.8ED performance, because it not those star series lenses....Sigma's telezoom has got very good reviews at least (Welcome to Photozone!). The only questionmark is AF speed without HSM...
