When the K1 first came out my K20D became my backup. When they came out with mkII I upgraded my K1. Later that year I traded my K20D as part of a deal to get a second K1mkII. I use them to shoot airshows. I will have a Black Rapid double harness with 2 K1MKII'S and battery grips. One will have the 70-200 and the other will have the 150-450. All that to say when I am just using 1 it doesn't seem as heavy. But as others have said, rent 1 and see how you like it.

They are however the aviation purist out there will scoff at the Me-109 description and keep going it's a Hispano 1112A. It is actually both, Spain built 109's under license from Germany (designated as Hispano 1112A Buchon) during the war and continue to fly them after the war. but they could not get the Daimler-Benz 605 engines and were using Merlin engines which required the larger lower engine cowling on the 109. This particular aircraft was built in Germany in early 1943 and shipped to Spain. So, both designations are accurate. The plane is painted as the aircraft the German ace Gen. Adolph Galland flew during the war.

A group of us met up at the Cavanaugh Flight Museum this last Friday evening for a photo shoot of several of their aircraft. Both images K1mkII DFA 20-70 iso 100 f16 30 second exposure. The landing gear was lit with small led light lights and one of the photographers ran around both aircraft painting both with another led light panel.

Yes that setup is quite heavy. I use that along with a 2nd mkII &DFA 70-200 at airshows both with bg's. I use the Black Rapid double sling although you would be just fine with the Black Rapid Single sling. Just make sure that put the screw in connector to the tripod mount of the lens and connect the strap to the lens so that you don't have all that weight pulling on the lens mount of the camera body.

Since most of the airshows i would shoot are cancelled at least for the first 9 months of the year spent a little time working on my table top photography. Converted to b&w in LightRoom and applied Serge Ramelli's many lights preset to it. I have also started using film again and taking continuing education classes at a local community college so I could use the film lab but that hasn't been available since mid march and don't know about the fall yet.
