Many thanks to everyone.
Your observations give me even more positive feelings in regard the K-1. Barry Pearson , your input and the shared photos are absolutely useful. Thank you, Sir.
I've almost made up my mind on it. The only thing I wish someone could share is an unedited raw sequence (can be converted to JPG though with no adjustments) at least 10 shots in row 'as is' of something moving, i.e. auto/moto or any kind of sports.
Well, I do not expect the K-1 to perform as said 5dMk2 , I imagine that APS-C will always have faster FPS and it would be also difficult to have more focusing points at $1.8K price tag being FF. Yet, I just wish to see the maximum of the focusing ability the K-1 is capable of. I think many of pentaxians would appreciate such info.

Hi fellows,
does K-1 get any close let's say to 7DMk2 in focus tracking on objects in motion?
I've looked through many pictures, but didn't see anything to answer this question.
Could anyone try to shot series on moving objects, etc then post a link here?
Thank you!

this is what I was going to tell :))
I can hardly imagine the need to go more than f8 and it is the peak of resolution.

would you mind to post the full EXIF information for both pics? I don't see it even on Flickr, it looks like your converter strips it off completely.
EXIF would make it easier to tell.
i.e. some aperture, focus length and shuttep speed combination can be unfavorable, so this wouldn't make sense to blame the lens.

that's interesting especially in view that a7 has about two native lenses only. But there is an option to use Sony aps-c and Minolta lenses through adaptor.
What kind of adaptor do you use for Pentax lens? I guess focus and aperture are manual only, right?

good catch mate, thank you. But too late for me, and I don't regret.
Still it looks like FA 35 is optically better, i.e. PZ gives Sigma only two stars vs four for FA35 and "recommended" mark.
The FA35 has also better resolution numbers, better controlled CAs and less vignetting. Also, being FF lens it benefits on crop sensors.
I was checking a lot of sample pictures for both lenses before pulling trigger.

For me it looks like to get good Sigma or Tamron is matter of luck, they seem to have poor qc. I would probably get one at local stores in condition to test it on the spot or to be able to return it easy way not wasting time/money on postage. Some people say they try up to 3-4 copies to get good one. But the prices are not always good here.

well, the picture quality is the priority for me, not to show this lens to girls :p
I've previously had a Sony 35/1.8 - that lens looks even uglier and attracts the dust like a magnet.

Being Canadian, if I buy it at B&H it will total me 460 (399 x 1.15 current exchange rate) + 15 (custom duties) + delivery (another 10...15), so ~490 canadian dollars in grand total against 430 + canadain warranty if ibuy it in Canada.
For Canadians this is currently the best deal for brand new lens.

Pentax smc FA 35mm F2.0 AL (made in Japan) for $399 in Canada.
This lens has very favorable review at PZ.
Just received it for 430 CAD in total (399 + tx + delivery). Keeping in mind current exchange rate (USD vs CAD) it looks like a best deal for Canadians.
You can order it at McBain Camera Pentax FA 35mm F2.0 AL Lens - Canada, Edmonton, McBain Camera
It is Special Order Item.
My order took 14 days in total: placed Feb-06, received today Feb-20 .
