I'm itching to upgrade from my k100d soon and have been eyeballing the K7, I've read the opinions, pros and cons, but I was wondering if I could expect the K7 to drop even more in price once the K5 hits streets? Is this typical of Pentax in past releases? I'd love to upgrade to the K5, but at the moment, I can't justify the extra $600+.

Thanks everyone, pictures were taken with K100d Super and Tamron 70-300 4-5.6
I'm glad you got the same feeling I did about the male lion. One of my favorite shots to date!

Thanks for the input everyone!
I placed an order for a 50-135 f4 sdm. About 99.00 round trip shipping for 10 days. I think I'm going to leave the 50mm and the 18-55 at home and bring a smaller bag. Hopefully I won't regret anything :o
I was almost set on the 50-500 sigma, but opted against it as I wouldn't have much use other than the surfing shots plus I've always wanted to try the 50-135 :D
Gonna be staying on Oahu, first time in Hawaii too! Shark diving, water falls, gliding are in my near future! :D:D:D

Thanks for the input Dave, I was eyeing the 50-500 Sigma, but like you said, I dont think I want to carry that lens on my trip, I guess I'll have to see how close my hotel will be to this. Was thinking maybe the 31 1.8 as a general walk around lens?

Leaving for Hawaii next week and would like to rent a lens to take with me. Currently my set-up consists of the K100d Super, 18-55 kit lens, 50 1.4, DA35, Sigma 10-20 and a Tamron 70-300. I'm not trying to fill any gaps in my set-up, would just like to try a new lens for possible purchase as an upgrade to the ones I have now. I imagine a lens on the wide side would be useful for a destination like Hawaii, but there is also going to be surfing comps. going down while I'm there and would like to get some good shots with that.
Any recommendations would be appreciated! :D

If that is the case, which would you choose? Would you mind posting pics used with your 35 2.8?
Thanks

I've been shopping around for a new lens, budget is around the $250-$350 range. I have a fa50 1.4, but is much too close for my indoor shots. Will be having the holidays at my house and would much like to be able to capture the moments. I guess I'm looking for a lens similar to the 50mm in terms of picture quality, but able to work in tighter spaces. I'm very much a newb, so any recommendations would be great. I've been looking at the fa35 f/2 and it has quite a few good reviews as well as in my budget. If possible, post pictures with your lens recommendation :D

The lens was in top shape, it was only used 6 days by one other renter and looked free of defects. I didn't have enough time to make a $450.00 dollar decision, the lens has been sent back, but will probably pick one up next month.
Appreciate all the input from everyone :D

Good to hear :D
I noticed it says 1 year warranty with extended 3 year warranty, is this Sigmas standard warranty? 4 years total?

Not sure if this is the right place, but I am currently renting a Sigma 10-20mm and my due date is tomorrow, It would run me $449.99 to purchase it from the rental company (used once before me), but while I was searching ebay, found the seller
47th st. photo with a bin of $449.95 NEW "Free Shipping". Checked and saw that they have an online retail site and priced it out at $437.00 NEW Shipped. Granted I only save about 13 bucks, but it's new in box.
Has anyone dealt with 47th St. Photo, ebay or retail site? Comments of experience with them.
