Ok thanks. Read a step by step on how to do that so i think im covered there. I forgot to mention its an f2 lens...wasnt sure if that made a difference with anything. Also once the lens is on the camera what is the next step from there. Besides making sure im set to MF mode, what about setting the focal length? Do you have to set the camera to a certain setting or just operate the lens as i normally would in an older film SLR?

Ive been wondering if its possible to use an older Ricoh lens on a K30? I know ive seen a post or two about it (not sure if it was here or on another Q&A site). I have a Ricoh P 50mm lens i would love to use. Ive heard things such as an "A" lens is ok but not the "P". Also heard that the P-pin will get stuck on an AF camera.I tried googling it but cant seem to find a definitive answer when it comes to the Pentax K30 and this lens. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thats funny you say that. Not even 5 min ago a rep called me and told me that my hood has already shipped out. Sent me an email with a tracking number for it. Seemed like he wanted to say more but he didnt. Im sure ill receive a call back in a few days asking to change my review (I stated in my review i would not give 5 stars until my problem is fixed). I guess ill see.

I just received my 18-135 in the mail yesterday. Ordered from Sunset Electronics on Amazon. It did NOT include the hood as pictured. I called the 1800 number for Sunset. Told the man mine was not included in the package and it shows it in the picture and is not stated anywhere on the page that it ISNT included.. They apolagized and made a new order for one to be delivered. So now i wait.

Hey Everyone. Im Dave and Im new to the forums and Pentax cameras. Recently ordered what will be my first DSLR, a Pentax K30 with a 18-135 lens. Cant wait for it to arrive! My current cameras are a Ricoh KR-5 Super(which no longer sees any use but its just cool- i love old cameras) and my Lumix LX3 which has become my daily camera for the past 4-5 years or so. Well thats all i can think of to jot down at this time. Want to know anything? Just ask!
