Olive Whistlers live in the higher-rainfall areas in south-eastern Australia (including Tasmania). They are not common anywhere and rather shy - you can spent years walking in the bush in these areas without seeing one (although you will probably hear their lovely song). So it's a privilege that we have resident ones in our gully who, after many years, have become quite friendly. This year we have had two chicks visit. The fee for modelling has been a little scrambled egg. These are all of the first chick.

I applied a couple of filters in Nik Color Efex (the free Google version) after processing in DxO PL4. The results have been pleasing.

I took the A 50 f/1.2 back to the park this morning. From f/1.4 on down, it renders like a shorter version of the FA 77 Limited... and I really like the FA 77.

A great lens indeed. So versatile and pretty darn sharp. It hardly ever lets me down.

And here's another reason why I like this lens so much. This image was taken during 'wadlopen'. That is when we go out and walk on the tidal mudflat. The idea that you can safely enage with this salt water environment using a 'kit lens' is one of the pleasures available to Pentaxians. Cross-posted from the cloudscapes thread.
