This shot was taken during my month long (very unprepared and a little brutal) trip to Iceland, last July.
It was a one hell of a magical trip despite all the rain and suffering, but it has finally made me confident enough to enter another competition here.
Hopefully you guys enjoy this snibbit of my efforts which I think suits this particular competition best :).

As said a few times here great framing and processing, been there a few times and this photo really captures the town hall's (built in the beginning of the 1400's) historic feel. Nominated! :)

Thank you, I was conflicted with the framing at first but after cropping the image closer around the hole which does also work, but it did make the image pretty dull in my eyes and straightforward, so I left it like this, I'm glad you like it. :)

I nominate this gorgeous photo. Very moody landscape, the mist and the soft morning light really complete this image. Also nice use of a soft HDR effect. :)

This definitely deserves a nomination, so there, I nominate this photo! Love the story by the way, (reminds me of myself haha) getting out of your comfort zone usually tends to pay off if you have eye for good composition and framing (as you have clearly demonstrated here). So after seeing this portait I also personally think you should continue with street photography, especially with these kinds of close up portraits, although I can imagine that it ain't easy being so bold on your own, it is always safer and easier to have someone else with you.

A small Wall lizard posing out of his little hideout for my camera.
His home was a little erroded out hole in mortar between the walls of an old fort in the city of Maastricht (Netherlands).
These wall lizards are spooked easily and tend to make a run for the nearest hideout as soon as they see you (they are really fast), but this one was special.
It came out of his hideout and curiously looked at me, which luckily I was able to capture. It definitely is one of my favorite pictures.

I was lucky to get this shot, I was walking my dog without my camera (something that doesn't occur much anymore). I had to rush home, quickly grab my camera (left my tripod), and rushed back to the open field to capture this strange but in my opinion beautiful formation. I was still a just starting out rookie back then (2011). But the panorama that I shot has been filed away since then, till I saw this contest, so what do you guys think?
