Hah Scotland - God's own Country!
As a keen motorcyclist I've rode the Scottish Black Tops for over 25yrs. I had a motorcyle tour business for a few yrs (Whistle-Stop Tours) riding on the back lanes of Scotland & France. Sorry - I digress - mention Scotland and I'm away.
Back to cameras. As a Pro freelance, I was more or less forced into going digital and bought a Nikon D100, I've still got it. But now I'm retired I've gone back to film with the LX & MX

Hello there;
Just joined your lively forum - I'm a retired professional photograper with over 30 yrs specialising in Weddings & Landscapes. When I started in the early 1970's, 120 x 12 shot roll film ruled the roost particularly TLR's - Mamiya 330 F's & the Rolliflex 2.8 were the favored two. Hasselblad SLR's were too noisy & too expensive unless your name was Litchfield. Later, Bronica & Mamiya introduced the 645 format using 120 x 15 shot roll film, these became quite popular because of the extra 3 shots, plus the negs would print straight to 10x8 without any cropping. In the late 70's, I bought a new Pentax ME and decided to use it as a back-up alongside my Mamiya 330f and found it to be a reverlation, It was very quick & light in use + 36 shots on one roll. This was soon followed by a MX and these two cameras quickly became my camera preference for all future weddings. The 120 cameras being confined to landscapes only. In the late 80's I splashed out on a new LX - what a dream of a camera - this was so well built you could probably knock nails in with it. OTF metering + Manual & Aperture Priority Auto made this camera, alongside my faithful MX, the idea pair of ultra dependable cameras for any wedding job. As you can see from my profile I've become a bit of a collector of 35 & 120mm cameras. In my humble opinion the nearest cameras to the LX & MX are the Olympus OM3 & OM4 plus the OM1 & OM2, all beautifully designed but none will replace my twins - the LX & MX.
