You are quite correct! We went to Moonta SA a few years ago and they do make excellent pasties there, here is my other half about to tuck in on one, perhaps they are the same family!
BTW everyone LOL more than one pasty=pasties one pasty singular=pasty
We even have a range of weird and wonderful pasty eating postcards in West Cornwall!

Hi Ash, thanks, spent a few days in your interesting town in 2006, nice Japanese Garden you have there!
Well,I took them with my K10D, no 1 was with the Sigma 10-20 and no 2 was with the kit lens 18-55DA.
Apart from Duotone filter applied I just applied the normal stuff, levels adjustment, unsharp mask etc. then got a bit arty with painting in my own borders, you can get them free from mags here but thought I wd try to make my own. There is a good tutorial on how to do it on the Photo Answers web site. Digital Photography, Digital Cameras & Photographers | Photo Answers

Here is an example of color popping that I use ocassionally, worked into a well toned mono it can be interesting, it is off some granite street furniture of my home town,
what do you think?

I love no2, very well executed, shows this woderful lens off to its full potential. I have the same lens for about 6 months and I love it it is very versatile and cracking optics. No 1 I feel is a bit too busy too much going on and TBH not great specimens a bit past their best!
I wd have focussed in on just the yellow sunflower head even closer.
Like this, taken with same lens:

Thank you also, that is the nicest thing anyone had said about my work. I suppose I should consider myself fortunate to have learnt the art by that route which has been invaluable, apart from attending an evening class one winter many moons ago I have taught myself.
Plus, a big plus, I have studied the mono work of great photographers, you can gain so much from studying their style and method. The MAGNUM site is a great starting point IMHO.

No problem, the only thing I am not sure of is whether Elements has the Toning option, you might have to do it via Hue/Saturation technique as in that video tutorial link.
