are there any special settings to be selected from Nikon menus when mounting Pentax lenses as I cannot prees the shutter after I mounted Pentax M 50 mm f1.7 on my Nikon D7000 through an adapter ..Thanx

a friend told me that number should be 75 as this number reflects the actual focal length on DX sensor !!?
50 should be OK for FX cams.

i just received a Pentax M lens 50mm f1.7 manual
However when i start my k01 the LCD shows this message : input focal length with a highlighted number that could be changed between 8 to 800
I am expecting that it should be 50
Am I right and what dose this number mean ?
another question : what to do other than to experiment in order to get the correct exposure ?

While I was trying to find a decent review for a lens I shocked to find out that ratings of DxO for Pentax lenses were very low in comparison with other companies :
Any explanation !!
Am I missing something :confused:

I understand you but I don’t understand the difference in size of the jpg outcome file between my Nikon d7000 and my Pentax K01( same sensor ) ...I used to process my nef file and get jpg of 2-3MB however with Pentax the outcome jpg of dng processing is about 850KB ?

How it comes that in most of times when I am starting processing a DNG file ( Pentax K01 raw ) of 14MB size it ends with a jpg file of less than one MB ?
Any explanation !!?
By the way : I use Lr 3.6 and this is not the case with similar size Nikon NEF file processing !

I am new to K01
Now when I press the shutter I get 3 pics ( it looks slightly different exposures !!? )
I tried to find a way to fix it but I found nothing in the menus or when searching the user's manual :confused:
any explanation or advice

I just joined this club after buying K01 ...I have been in photography with Nikon for the past few years however by recommendations of my photographers friends I am moving toward the new world of Pentax
